    Open House at the Kindergarten

Anyway, last night was open house at the Kindergarten with Alex. I had already met his teacher at “Meet the Teacher Night,” but open house give them more of an opportunity to explain how things are structured, etc. I already had a good feel for how I thought she would run things, just based on how the room was set up and things that Alex had told me.     Today was the 1st day of school for the 2009-2010 school year. Drew’s going into 6th grade, which means moving up to middle school. Alex is going to Kindergarten! One good thing out of being unemployed right now is that I got to take Alex to his first day of school ever.

    You know, I haven’t actually written here in a while. Yah, I’ve posted stuff; menus, pictures, other random superficial posts. I haven’t talked about what’s been going on with me.     I just read finished finally reading The Shack. If you have not read the book, I would highly recommend it. I don’t want to discuss the book too much, because I don’t want to give anything away.     Children’s Drawer Labels

    I made some labels for Alex’s clothing chest of drawers. I did this with Drew’s drawers awhile back and decided make some new ones for him. I’ve actually made a couple different sets both in black & white and color. I printed out the labels, cut them out, and used packing tape over the entire label to secure them and make sure they don’t get torn with everyday use. I used the template Avery 5376 (Business Cards) in Word with borders. You could even use the actual business cards that come ready perforated to save some time. The first set…

    The other day I was inspired to try out an idea. I thought of curing up boneless, skinless chicken breasts into bite size or maybe a little larger pieces.
