    Week 1 & 2: 2025

Here’s my weekly post. This is covering the 1st two weeks of the January. Jan. 10 – Everything was cancelled for this day, because it was a day we were supposed to have ice. This was the extent of the ice! Even though the university was closed, I still had to go to work. My boss is so awesome. He bought us pizza. Jan. 13 – Went to Rob’s office to help him move into his new space. Jan. 14 – Always love seeing rival school buses roll into the hotel across the street from my work. Rob and I…

    Christmas 2024

Just a quick little post to remember this Christmas 2024…the last one before our granddaughter is here! Breakfast Casserole (recipe) I made the weekend before Christmas since we had company. Christmas Eve Since Rob’s dad is seriously considering moving from Huntsville, TX to our area, so we hooked him up with one of our realtor friends. He was gracious enough to show us a couple houses on Christmas eve morning. Later that day, we attended church and then came home to have our traditional Christmas Eve meal (Ham, Hash brown Casserole, and Teriyaki Green beans). Always love having this guy…

    Travel Summary 2024

This year, we tried to scale back the travels a bit from last year…We still take advantage of when Rob has a work trip. I think last year and maybe the year before I did a separate post to list all my travels, but I’m so behind on posts right now that I decided not to do that. Here’s a quick run down… April Not sure you can even hardly count this as a trip. We were only gone a few hours, but it was so good for my mental health. After several days of being cooped up after my…

Amazon Purchases and Advice for Shoulder Surgery

Today, I’m sharing my Amazon purchases that prepared me for shoulder surgery. So just as a recap, in March I went back to the Orthopeadic doctor, so see if I could get another steroid shot. However, after some strength tests, he seemed concerned that something might be torn, so instead of an injection he ordered a MRI. That came back and showed I had tears in my rotator cuff and bicep tendon, which is a very combination. I ended up scheduling surgery about a month out and then I started researching full force. I will say there are a ton…

    Memories, Dreams, and Reflections (Link-Up)

Back in 2011, one of my favorite blogs (no longer online) shared an end of year post that I just loved, so I decided to do it that year. I started sharing this post again in 2020 and have done it ever since. Last year several people expressed wanting to share their year through this post. With that info, I decided this year that I would share the blank version early in case anyone else wanted to do it. I’ve started gathering photos for my 2024 edition. Here are the ‘rules’ of this post The beauty of Memories, Dreams and…

    San Fransisco Trip Day 3 & 4

Sometimes the slower-paced days sneak up and charm you the most. With a bit of extra sleep, familiar company, and breezy moments between conference prep and rooftop catch-ups, days 3 and 4 brought a welcome ease to our California rhythm. Not every day needs to be jam-packed with sights to leave an impression—some unfold through the quiet joy of shared breakfasts, casual strolls, and conversations that linger.

    2024:: November 25-December 1

Last Tuesday after work, we headed towards Texas, planning to spend the night in Shreveport to break up the trip since its a 12 hour drive. We ended up having a delay when Google Maps told us to take a detour near Selma. We went over some railroad tracks and ended up going over a pot hole that gave us a flat tire. There was another car that had pulled over who had also gotten a flat tire. Long story short, God paved the way for us to get our tire switched to the spare and got a new tire…

    San Fransisco Trip Day 2

Day 2 of our California adventure took us from misty morning farmland into the heart of towering redwoods, tech landmarks, and quiet college-town charm. It was a day of contrasts—ancient trees beside futuristic design, crispy waffle chips alongside creamy panna cotta—and one that reminded us just how layered a single afternoon can be. Spoiler: even the hotel fan had something to say.

    San Fransisco Trip Day 0 & 1

With a couple days to spare before the conference, we hit the road and hugged the California coast—chasing foggy beaches, towering cliffs, and roadside surprises. From lighthouse silhouettes to sea lion lounging, moody skies to crumbly cliffs, this stretch served up all the drama and delight a wandering heart could hope for. Even the snacks played their part.

    Day in Birmingham

The weekend after going to Atlanta, we had another even to attend out of town. This time it was in Birmingham, Al at the BJCC. We have wanted to see For King and Country for years, so we were excited to finally have the opportunity. We stopped in Dadeville for a late breakfast and then once we got to Birmingham, we went to a thrift store called Encore. It was ok. We didn’t buy anything. After that since we were close to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, we went over there to check it out. It used to be one of…

    Atlanta Getaway

Back in October, Rob and I got given tickets to the Atlanta United game, so we decided to make it a little getaway. Saturday morning after getting up, we headed out and ate brunch at Another Broken Egg. I had the Cinnamon Roll French toast, which was Ah-mazing!! Highly recommend. Not as sweet as it sounds. I also didn’t need to use any syrup. I wanted to stop at West Point Stevens Outlet that’s about 30 minutes from our house and on the way to Atlanta. They have huge discounts and run specials on top of that. We got everything…
