Late September unfolded with a rhythm of renewal, connection, and unexpected turns. From home projects to miraculous moments, each day carried its own weight…some light and celebratory, others sobering and full of grace.

This fall I’m starting a Fall Bucket Photo Challenge…to gather the moments that feel like a memory, and the ones that might become one. Its not a checklist. Not a race. Just a way to notice what fills the bucket: light, color, memory, longing. The things we almost miss. The things we want to remember. Let’s curate photos that speak to autumn’s texture. Scenic drives, waterfall mist, roadside candy shops, quiet towns, and the way the light shifts in familiar places. Some will be from past trips. Some will be new. All will be chosen with care. If you’re feeling…

This fall itinerary traces a scenic route from Auburn, Alabama through the mountain towns of North Georgia, highlighting cozy stops, seasonal flavors, and places to pause along the way. Each destination includes mileage from Auburn to help visualize the journey, but you can easily adapt the route from wherever you’re starting. While I’ve visited all of these locations before, I haven’t experienced them during peak fall—so this guide reflects both personal recommendations and my hope to return and see their autumn beauty firsthand. September arrived with its usual rhythm. Back-to-school routines, shifting light, and a quiet invitation to reflect. This month held a mix of ordinary tasks and extraordinary moments, each day offering something to be thankful for. Whether it was a shared lunch, a meaningful conversation, or a step forward on a long-term project, I tried to capture one sentence that held the heart of the day. Here’s a look back, one day at a time. My template: -Thankful for: -Sum up today in 1 sentence/Or one memorable thing from today: Number of Steps: Monday/9.1.2025 – Holidays – Got more done with…

Fall is my absolute favorite, so I was thrilled to see this delightful mix of questions all centered around the season. 1. Fall officially rolls into the Northern Hemisphere on Monday (9/22)…what’s your favorite thing about fall? I love all things fall. Cooler temps that whisper rest, leaves turning like pages in a story, football weekends wrapped in team spirit and fleece, Halloween magic…masks, moonlight, and mischief, and the gentle crescendo of it all. Thanksgiving, where gratitude gathers around the table. 2. What’s one thing on your real or proverbial autumn bucket list? Here’s a Fall Bucket list that I…

End of August into early September brought a rhythm of celebration, quiet joys, and everyday beauty. These snapshots mark the moments that made me pause and smile.

A quick peek into our recent weeks—family, faith, fresh paint, and LA’s giggles lighting up the house. Here’s what we’ve been up to.

August was full. Family visits, deck drama, sweet moments with LA, and the quiet joy of everyday routines. Through it all, I stayed grounded in gratitude and kept moving forward, one step at a time. 🙂

Mid-August arrived with its own kind of rhythm. Quiet observations, unexpected visitors, and a few moments that felt almost cinematic. From a mushroom in disguise to a bird that wouldn’t budge, the days unfolded with a mix of wonder, chaos, and tenderness. August 11 A completely different kind of mushroom—one I would’ve missed entirely, since at first glance it looked just like a fall-colored leaf. It was Alex who spotted it and pointed it out to me. August 12 That day, when I got to1 my car in the parking deck at work and spotted this little guy just staring…

Some of you may have seen this post earlier, but it got posted by accident…Here’s the finished version 🙂 August’s watchlist was a mix of mystery, nostalgia, and emotional chaos—from cruise ship disappearances to road trip mishaps and coastal family drama. Here’s what pulled me in (and what made me roll my eyes).

August snuck up on me as new months usually do, while I was rinsing off Texas dust. Mushrooms took over the yard, LA dropped by with her usual sparkle, and the 21-year-old landed back home between leases; bringing laundry, late-night fridge raids, and that familiar mix of chaos and comfort. The house feels full again, but not settled and I’m ok with it. July 28 Came home from our family visit to Texas>>>Quick Trip to Texas July 29 We’ve had so many mushrooms pop up. These were on our side yard. My favorite time is any time LA gets to…

Sometimes a quick getaway is just what you need to reconnect and reset. A couple weeks ago, we headed to Texas to visit Rob’s Dad and Step Mom in Huntsville. Though plans for them to move closer are still on hold, we felt it was time for a visit—and this short trip gave us a chance to catch up, explore, and soak in a little Lone Star charm. Friday We took a half day on Friday to get to the airport and get to Houston at a decent hour. Of course, there were delays. We did get lunch at the…

July 2025 has been a blend of sunshine, milestones, and those quiet moments that sneak up on you. Rob’s 50th was a highlight, the backyard dream is edging closer to reality, and July brought its share of good meals and social snapshots. Work’s humming along and I’ve been neck-deep in blog tweaks. As August begins, the school-year memories resurface—fuzzy backpacks, early bus stop waves—and the house, though quieter, still holds echoes of those days. Let’s catch up.

We eased into the day with brunch and mountain air, trading city rush for quiet roads and desert views. From Spring Mountains to Pahrump to the glow of the Strip, it was a day of detours, discoveries, and one final spin through Vegas.
-
Some days come wrapped in setbacks. Others surprise you with unlikely detours that turn out to be the highlight reel. Day 5 started with a limp and ended with lights, laughter, and a couple of unforgettable performances—each one wildly different, both perfectly Vegas. Whether you’re strolling or struggling, the city knows how to show up for you when you lean into the unexpected.

Midday found us hungry and headed somewhere unexpected—a diner-meets-pizzeria with a dash of showbiz flair. What started as a pit stop became a pivot: less hustle, more healing, and just enough spectacle to keep our spirits lit.

Bucket List, Checked. Rob and Drew spent an unforgettable day in Atlanta soaking up the energy of the All-Star Village, followed by an evening at the 2025 All-Star Game—an absolute dream event for any baseball fan. Not only was it a bucket list moment, it turned out to be a history-making one: after a 6-6 tie, fans witnessed the first-ever swing-off tiebreaker in All-Star Game history. The format included three rounds of alternating swings, and the National League edged out the win with a final score of 4–3. Needless to say, this crew was thrilled to see the NL pull…

July was a patchwork of party prep, sweet conversations, and mop-induced motivation—plus one roof-hugging feline and a whole lot of step counts. One sentence at a time, here’s what made the month memorable.
