Dynamics at work have changed a bit, because the addition that has been under construction since December 2015 is now finished and open. This $35 million addition adds 26 state of the art classrooms, 2 large lecture halls, study rooms, and open study spaces that span 69,000 square feet in 3 stories. This mecca is called Mell Classroom Building @ RBD Library.
It is the newest and largest classroom building on campus and what’s cool is that it connects directly to the RBD library. The classrooms are interactive, collaborative, and are technologically driven.
The natural lighting and open feel of the building is welcoming and students love it!
Distracting, but beautiful views…

Mell Street that is directly in front of the Mell Classroom is currently closed off with bollards. Starting this fall this area will be constructed to a nice brick walkway with bike paths and seating areas. See renderings for that on the Auburn Facilities Mell Corridor Improvements Page.
I encourage anyone that is on or around campus to come check it out!
