    Syd Bream Bobblehead Day at the Braves

    Atlanta Braves Welcome Legends of the Game for Third Annual Alumni Weekend Alumni Softball Game (1992 Braves vs. Braves Alumni) So cool I got this shot. Here you see Mark Wohlers running from 1st to 2nd base. He had actually just batted the ball back with his hand. So funny! Between the softball game and the actual baseball game, they had a ceremony to commemorate Sid Breams’ Slide.

    Library Story #4

    Warm Fuzzies A tall, tough looking guy walks up to the desk with a pile of big books. He places them on the desk and as he does so I see the forehead, eyes, and nose of a little girl as she peeks over the top of the desk trying to see. The little girl looks up to her daddy and whispers something. He looks down admiringly and tell his daughter that they have to check the books out before they can take them home. There’s something so endearing about seeing a father bringing his children, especially his little girl,…

    Drew’s Room

    During the month of June, Drew and I worked to get his room clean. Here’s what we did: -made three piles of clothes (keep, keepsakes, pass down to Alex) The pile to pass down to Alex was taller than me! -shampooed carpet -got stains out of carpet -cleaned closet -stained bookshelf -rearranged furniture -cleaned base boards -organized everything -fixed broken drawer -fixed broken bookend -spot cleaned walls He’s very proud to have a nice clean, organized room. Now if he’ll just keep it from getting so gawd awful messy again, that will make me very happy. I always forget to…

    Don’t hide stuff here!

    A few weeks ago, we were traveling somewhere and Alex was “playing a game” with Drew, where he would hide the folded-up straw wrapper and Drew would have to guess where it was. Alex had a brilliant place to put it. See the pic below. I wasn’t aware of what was going on in the back seat, but at some point, I turned around and realized Alex didn’t have his seat belt on. As any good mom would do, I told him to put the seat belt on immediately. So he attempted to, but couldn’t because he has forgotten he…

    Camp Sequoyah

    This year Drew decided to attend a different Boy Scout camp. Since his troop is so large they usually have 2 different groups go to 2 different camps. The last several years he’s gone up to North Carolina to Camp Daniel Boone, but this year he opted to stay in his home state of Alabama, and attend Camp Sequoyah. His troop leaders are quite tech savy and for this summer’s camp outs, began blogging and posting pics through the weeks of camp. Well, I couldn’t have been any happier to find updates about what Drew had done each day along…

    Memories of the Month {6.2012}

    This month I was happy about: being able to spend time with family and friends. This month I was sad that: Drew won’t be playing Auburn Thunder any more. Somethings I accomplished this month were: getting Drew’s room rearranged and organized. Stained the old toy box and the bookshelf in Drew’s room. Did some touching up to the kitchen cabinets. Something new I did was: go to a CD launch party. Books I read were: Focus On America: Profiles Of Nine Photographers The Americans Remove from my books Photographer of Modern Life: Camille Silvy Cape Light Park City Uncommon Places:…

    Den Meeting at the AU Fisheries {Fishing Belt Loop}

    Last Friday Alex’s Cub Scout Den met up at the Auburn University fisheries for a Den Meeting to complete the requirements for the Fishing Belt Loop. Drew caught 2 fish. And so did Alex. There were a couple pretty large fish caught. All fish were thrown back in after the hooks were removed. See more pics here.

    Date Night in Decatur

    Yesterday, we dropped the kids off so that they could hang out with their Uncle Nick while Rob and I escaped for a date night in Decatur, GA. One of Rob’s buddies from high school, Jason Passmore, had a CD release party at the Java Monkey. After finding a parking spot and locating Java Monkey, we walked around to find something to eat, as the Java Monkey just sells drinks, appetizers, finger foods and desserts. Nothing real substantial. We ended up eating at a little spot right around the corner called Noodle House. It’s a locally owned, Atlanta Chain, that…

    80’s party

    A few weeks ago, we went to our friend’s 40th Birthday party. It was 80’s Themed. We scrounged around an hour before the party. I was lucky enough to come across my original New Kids on the Block shirt that was mine back when I was in Jr. high. Yes, I could still wear it, only because it used to be a night shirt! 🙂 Super cool party favors The birthday boy and his wife-y Me and my babe The Fab 4 Too cute! Loved the cake! Precious! Becoming a Better Leader

    Last week, Teenager was away at his first camp of the summer. We dropped him off on Sunday at Camp Jamison which is part of Camp Bert Adams, the wilderness part of the camp. This camp was NYLT, which stands for National Youth Leadership Training. This was such a great experience for Teenager. He came back with knowledge to lead, growth from his experiences, and friendships to last a lifetime. The first 2 days it monsooned. On our way home after picking him up Friday night, he told us stories of his group moping around, and how even though he…

    Boy Scout Open House

    Teenager’s Boy Scout Troop has been using part of the upstairs offices in Rob’s company’s building. As a thank you to Rob’s company, the Troop put on an Open House for everyone and their families. They did a great job, as everyone had a good time and enjoyed a break from the humdrum of work in an office. 🙂 Here’s a few pics: Rotisserie chicken turned with real man power Axe/tomahawk throwing Tying knots Cooking cobbler in a dutch oven

    Pack Meeting {Soccer Belt Loop}

    Tonight we were out at the soccer fields for our Cub Scout Pack Meeting. During the Summer, we’re much more laid back and try and do something fun, easy, but still something where the boys are making good use of their time. Here’s a few pics of the boys meeting requirements for the soccer belt loop. More pics here.

    Memories of the Month {5.2012}

    This month I was happy about: having a couple Sundays off this month. This month I was sad about: was having to work a couple Fridays this month. Somethings I accomplished this month are: going to the dentist for a cleaning (yes, I’m terrified of the dentist.) Something new I did was: visit an Amish community. Books I read were: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (GREAT book! You should totally read it!) 13 Little Blue Envelopes (Little Blue Envelope, #1) by Maureen Johnson Raising Yoder’s Barn by Jane Yolen The Journey by Sarah Stewart An Amish Wedding…

    Bowling

    We’re in the first full week of summer, so keeping the boys busy is key to my sanity. Drew has a lot going on through the entire summer. Alex has a couple weeks of activities, so he has a lot more down time. We finally took advantage of the free bowling passes that the kids always bring home right before summer starts. Rob went and got summer passes for him and me. We purchased bowling shoes for all of us and now we can bowl 2 games everyday for the entire summer. Expect lots of bowling pics the summer. 🙂…

We have too much we need to be doing, don’t you think? Thanks! Dear Memorial Day weekend,…

    I’m not normally squeamish…

    Today I took Drew to the dentist, because last week at his orthodontist appointment, they expressed that he was still having over crowding and they felt it necessary to remove 4 permanent teeth. Do this this will make more room and allow the teeth to spread out a bit so his front teeth don’t have to jut forward anymore. So after sitting in the waiting room for about 20 minutes chatting with the office manager who I’m friends with, Drew was done. The Hygienist shared that there was a little more blood than they’re used to, so he needs to…

    Mom & Me Tea

    Friday, I went to Alex’s class for the Mom & Me Tea, well, there was lemonade. The class read a poem called, “I’m Trying So Hard” It was so sweet. I wished I would have videoed it! Here’s the poem: I’m trying so hard To be really good, And do all the things I know that I should. But, I’m just a kid, Mom, I’m messy and slow, I don’t eat my veggies, And I’ll clean my room, I know! And I don’t pick my toys up, And I don’t like my bath, I’m trying to learn my spelling, And…
