I am not ready to say goodbye! God, it’s too early. I’m too young! He’s too young! These are just some of the things running through my head the other night after getting the news that took my breath away. Hearing my Dad try and ease the blow, finally saying he’s got ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease. A disease I knew enough about to know it’s a horrible, horrendous disease that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. What’s even worse is that he believes that he’s had it for several years. Today he had another test and it confirmed everything.…

This month I was happy about: Rob starting his new job a few days ago. This month I was sad about: random stupid stuff. Something I accomplished this month was: starting to eat healthy again. Hoping I can keep up with it now and not let a slip up ruin my whole plan.

As a family we started doing a daily bible devotional every morning at 6:40am. We’ve wanted to do one, but with our crazy schedules we haven’t been able to come up with a time. We want to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk as a family and keep God at the center of all of our lives. Rob suggested we start doing it before the kids go off to school. It’s worked out really well. We are using the family devotionals by Josh McDowell. We can get done in about 15 minutes with a prayer to wrap…

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. ~Micah 7:7 > So for those of you who follow Rob on Facebook, you’ve heard the good news. Rob has accepted a new job at Auburn University. We are just so elated at this wonderful opportunity. He will be working in the Facilities Management in the Information Systems Department. Over the past 5 years, we’ve had so many ups and downs (more downs) with my job situation and my eventual career change. As much as I love and…

I really hate when life and all it’s problems start to get to me. When I get that feeling that I swallowed a 10 lb. dumbbell, my fingers start to ache, and nervousness rushes through me from my head down to my toes. It’s just not a good feeling. I can handle a lot, but it seems like circumstances, many of which are not in my control, just keep getting shoveled on top of me one after another. Just when I think I can push my way through it all and get back on my feet, one more heaping pile…

This month I was happy about: Rob’s job offer (post coming soon). This month I was sad about: this continued anxiety/depression that Alex is going through. Something I accomplished this month was: finally getting the rest of our Wild, Wild West Trip posts done!

Drew got his braces off today. I think I was more excited about it than he was. He has a permanent retainer on the bottom that is not visible. He will wear removable, plastic, see-thru retainers for top and bottom at night and when he’s home. Here’s a comparison of before and after.

This month I was happy about: 2 vacations! This month I was sad about: coming back from said vacations. Something I accomplished this month was: not a whole lot.

This past cub scout pack meeting was very exciting, probably more for the adults than the kids, in that we realized what opportunity these kids were getting. Getting to hang out in the workout place of the Auburn University Gymnastics Team!

Saturday was Drew’s Boy Scout’s Troop chill at the lake day. A fun time was had by all! We enjoyed burgers and hotdogs, tubing, waster skiing, knee boarding, and fellowship. Meeting of the minds… Ummmm…ok 5 Drew on 1 tube…could get interesting! And that it did! After over an hour of joy riding, they managed to flip the tube, causing one of the guys knees to go into the cheek of another guy. The result 2 broken molars and 1 huge headache. Clark Kent Scoutmaster on Skis! Drew knee boardin’ I’ve got some videos to post from the day, but…

Realized I never posted this… This month I was happy about: that Drew was able to have the opportunity of a life time to go to Philmont. This month I was sad about: having Drew gone for over 1/2 a month. Something I accomplished this month was: not a whole lot of anything really… Something new I did was: lived through having Drew gone for half the month. This year I’m going to rate the books & movies. Here’s my rating system: ♥ ♥ = Love it! A must read/see! ♥ = Really good! Highly recommend. ✓ ✓ = Good,…

Dear Drew, Man, you’ve been gone just over 2 weeks now. I’ve missed you like crazy! It was kinda funny, the Thursday before you left, that evening, I was missing you already and you hadn’t even left yet. Before I left that afternoon to go to work, you and I laid across the bed and looked different pics and videos about Philmont. It’s little memories like that that are so special. Thursday evening during my dinner break, Dad asked you if you were homesick and you said yes, I just laughed knowing the tinge I was feeling in the pit…
