Playing a little catch up as the last couple weeks have been busy. Here’s my post talk about our lovely Christmas weekend.
Christmas Eve’s weather was beautiful. After a couple errands, Rob and I sat outside for a bit that afternoon while Christmas Eve dinner cooked. Kayleigh enjoyed it too.
Christmas Eve dinner included Ham, Hash Brown Casserole, Green Beans,
King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls , and salad with Romaine Lettuce, Slice apples, pecans, and raspberry vinaigrette.
From there it was off to the Christmas Eve service, which is always so special. Rob was upstairs in the balcony doing media. Alex didn’t come because he had a migraine. So I sat with Caitlyn’s mom who joined us for the service. Caitlyn and Drew were at her Gramma’s house because they do their Christmas every Christmas Eve.
A little wine while I wait for Santa.
We woke up and saw that Santa came!!
Christmas Day started family pics and then breakfast, which is Sausage Balls (not pictured here) and Apple Dumplin’s.
Then we did stockings and presents.
This year Kayleigh ‘got’ Christmas. She was anxious to open gifts and actually tore them open.
One of my gifts from Rob was a backup camera in my car!
After opening gifts and gathering everything up we are supposed to bring we headed over to Rob’s Mom and Step Dad’s house for the rest of the day.
When we got over to the in-laws we unloaded the car, set up the “bar,” and started visiting. The kids and a few others starting playing 4-Bidden Words Adult Party Game by What Do You Meme? . I ended up joining in on the game and it was so much fun. Mind you, this is not a game for kids as many of the prompts are adult words.
We aren’t big drinkers, but every Christmas Rob enjoys playing bartender and making mixed drinks for us.
At some point, I went outside and walked around the farm.
Kayleigh enjoyed the outside time too.
This year Alex and Caitlyn’s Mom made the dough for the pasta.
The ‘kid’ table
While our original plans were to be leaving Christmas Day night and heading down to Florida to get on a cruise ship the next day, it was a really nice day without the anticipation of that. We were able to relax and enjoy the company, a whole lot more and not having a time limit to the day. There would have been no mixed drinks and probably not as much game playing either.

It looks like such a relaxing holiday. I think you’re right – it would have been more hectic with the cruise. Your church is beautiful!
What a wonderful Christmas you all had!
