Last year was the first Annual Ski Trip for our Boy Scout (and family can come too so we get the group rate) trip. You can read about that trip here:

This year the boys wanted to do it again. We ended up at the Days Inn again. It’s not the nicest of places, in fact some of the parents opted to stay somewhere else this year. We like it for the price and the location. It’s in the same block as the Ober Gatlinburg ticket office and tram stop.
What we like about going to Gatlinburg instead of another ski resort like Maggie Valley is that there’s more to offer than just skiing. Gatlinburg has so much to offer. I highly recommend that everyone go to Ober Gatlinburg, no matter what time of year you go.
Ride the tram to the top
Enjoy gorgeous views from the tram
Slide down the slippery slope on a tube.
Take ski lessons if it’s your first time and then give the bunny slopes a try, but hopefully you do better than I did. (See 6th pic down in this post)
Strap on some ice skating and enjoy gliding along the ice or sit by a warm fire with your favorite book.
Visit the Wildlife Encounter, where you’ll see black bears, river otters, and much more.
In Downtown Gatlinburg, there’s so much to do. Arcades, Gatlinburg Space Needle, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, eat Candied Apples, and so much more.
There’s lots of great places to eat. A couple of my favorites are Bennett’s BBQ and Luigi’s Pizza
On the way out of town, we stopped in Pigeon Forge
Gatlinburg is a great place to visit. It’s a place that my family travels to quite often. If you haven’t been, you should add it to your travel list!
