Last Sunday was a great day for Auburn Basketball. Auburn was playing in Atlanta in NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament aka March Madness. Sunday was the Elite 8 game for Auburn against Michigan State. It was a great game. We were leading nearly the entire game. With that win, we play in the Final Four game on Saturday! After any Auburn win, Auburn fans head downtown to Toomer’s Corner to roll and party. We typically only go down there for big wins. Rob asked me if I wanted to and I decided it would be fun. They close the streets for…

As an Auburn alumnus, employee, and now parent, this is a beautiful sight. Most people look at this with disgust seeing a mess or even vandalism. Because I love Auburn, this is a beautiful sight. I don’t see defacing of property. I see victory. I don’t see violence or harm. I see celebration as Auburn fans, family, and friends coming together after a win. I don’t see vandalism. I see tradition that dates back to the late 1960’s. With this particular rolling after our win over Alabama, our state rivals, I see an opportunity to play for the SEC championship…

I woke up Tuesday morning feeling sick to my stomach. Feeling as if I was missing the funeral for my best friend. That yearning in my heart that told me, “Let me see them one more time.” It’s terrible, gut-wrenching. Lifeless, haggard…dead. I watched (on live webcam) all morning as they…

Although, we didn’t go to the rolling of Toomer’s Corner after A-day, I raced over there Sunday night just as the clean up crews got there to start cleaning up. Here’s a few shots: I’ve written a bit about the trees already. I’m not sure any of my words have or could ever truly convey how special they really are to me and the rest of the Auburn Family. To most people this looks like a big mess, to the Auburn family this is beautiful! Here’s a aerial shot of the crowd during the final rolling. Tell me people don’t…

These trees have stood the test of time. Over a hundred years ago no one knew how beloved these trees would be. How they would be the center of countless celebrations after Auburn University victories. How they would be the focal point of a tradition that is a favorite among Auburn students, fans, and alums. But you see these trees are now dead by the hands of sick fan from our rival school. The trees have been dying since November 2010. We found out about the poisoning in February of the next year. Many, including me, cried bitter tears that…

I’ve been so busy with other things that I haven’t been able to post pictures from the party at Toomer’s Corner after the win against Florida. Such a SWEET win and a great birthday present, too! Read here about the tradition of Rolling Toomer’s Corner
