    Middle School Pep Rally

    Last week, Alex’s school cheered on the football team as well as all the teams that are active this fall. I took the afternoon off to attend and at first was glad that it was being held outside, but then the temps rose to over 80°. This did not make me to happy standing out there for over an hour with sun blaring in my face.     1st Day of School

    Today was the 1st day of school for the 2009-2010 school year. Drew’s going into 6th grade, which means moving up to middle school. Alex is going to Kindergarten! One good thing out of being unemployed right now is that I got to take Alex to his first day of school ever.

    Congrats to Maria!

    Picture courtesy of Savannah Now Saturday my sis-in-law, Maria, graduated from SCAD Atlanta. It was a great commencement ceremony. Very inspiring! They had display screens and while we were waiting for the ceremony to start they displayed examples of work from a select few graduates. I’m a pretty artsy person and as they flipped through the different majors, there were several that I think would be awesome. Made me really wish I would have been exposed to more before deciding what to major in in college. Live and learn! Glenn Close gave the commencement speech, which was quite interesting. After…

    2nd Grade Disappointment

    Friday night, Drew said, “Mom, you gotta look in my folder. There’s something important in there!” I asked him to bring it to me and I found an envelope with his full name printed neatly on the front. I opened it up as a large lump found it’s home on my throat. I was pretty nervous with anticipation! Inside were 2 blue sheets of paper. One was a letter from his teacher, Ms. B, which said she would be taking a leave of absence to seek medical treatment and proper recovery. Ms. B had been out quite a bit before…
