{one} what’s the #1 most played song on your iPod (or whatever you use)? I’m not at home to look, but I think it’s a song by Asia, either Only Time Will Tell or the Heat of the Moment. {two} what’s your favorite type of exercise? Aerobics {three} what’s your least favorite mode of transportation? Bus {four} if you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what would it be? That’s a really hard question. Maybe 17? or 28? Those were both good. {five} when you have 30 minutes of free time, what do you use it to do?…

1. I am a (morning, evening, middle of the day person) To answer this one is hard. It really depends on how I’m feeling, but I think I’m really a night owl at heart, just like my Dad. 2. With it being summer our TV watching shifts. We go into summer mode. In previous summers, Rob and I would stay up late after the kids went to bed watching movies or reruns of 24. This year, we’re not able to do that since I’m working in the evenings. So we catch up on his lunch hour, my dinner hour, and the weekends. Here’s what we’re watching this summer: Flashpoint When we started watching Flashpoint, I totally thought this was a new series until I was talking to coworker about this show and he made me realize it’s not and…

“I feel like I snatched a meal from the jaws of death!” -Rob This was after he made dinner one night with some food that was past it’s expiration date.

1. My plans this summer include everything I put on a list (can’t fine link right now). 2. The best summer I ever had was… Well, for this one I couldn’t just finish the sentence. I have to say that my summers growing up were always so much fun. Being an independent “only child”, when I wasn’t busy going to camp or College for kids or volunteering at the local hospital, I enjoyed watching old re-runs, riding my bike to friends’ houses, going on trips with my Granddad and Grandmother, going for a drive while eating Braum’s ice cream. But…

I just love when Rude Cactus does the posts of numbers. I’ve kept that in mind, trying to find a good time to do a post like that. Well, unfortunately the time has come. LOL! I was hoping it would be some wonderful post about a vacation or new job. Not so much. I’ll just let you figure out why it is unfortunate by leaving you with the totals…. Days since this all started: 16 Days it seems like it’s been going on: 35 Trips to the emergency room: 1 Antibiotics Rob has taken: 3 Pain meds attempted: 2 Trips…

Tuesday night the week before 4th of July, Rob was talking with his brother about finding something “fun” to do over the weekend. The last few years we have mainly hung out at home and enjoyed time with our neighbors. Before that we headed to Texas to visit my family there. Anyway, after some thought and research we decided it would be fun to head up to the North Georgia Mountains. Since it was so close to the date, there were only a few options. We ended up staying here in Murphy, NC. We went with Rob’s Mom, Step-Dad, adopted…

Original – “Mr. Handsome” Here’s my fixed photo. I played around with this picture and didn’t like anything I came up with. Then I decided to see what would happen when I played around with the black/white adjustments in Photoshop and this is what I came up with.

I just read finished finally reading The Shack. If you have not read the book, I would highly recommend it. I don’t want to discuss the book too much, because I don’t want to give anything away. I will say that I really took to heart the biblical teachings and was able to relate them to my own life. As I was reading I found some quotes that I liked. Here they are: When all you can see is your pain, perhaps you lose sight of me? -p.96 Growth means change and change involves risk, stepping from the known to…

I made some labels for Alex’s clothing chest of drawers. I did this with Drew’s drawers awhile back and decided make some new ones for him. I’ve actually made a couple different sets both in black & white and color. I printed out the labels, cut them out, and used packing tape over the entire label to secure them and make sure they don’t get torn with everyday use. I used the template Avery 5376 (Business Cards) in Word with borders. You could even use the actual business cards that come ready perforated to save some time. The first set…

The other day I was inspired to try out an idea. I thought of curing up boneless, skinless chicken breasts into bite size or maybe a little larger pieces. Bread them and made a sauce to coat them in. I didn’t want to use the regular wing sauce, so I decided to make my own sauce. This is now added to our family favorite’s list. I usually have to make about 3 batches worth, because my family eats a load of these! Servings: 4 Prep Time: 20 minutes Cooking Time: 30 minutes Here is the secret recipe for our Spicy…

Last week Drew spent his first week at camp. He went away to Boy Scout Camp in North Carolina; Camp Daniel Boone. I always loved getting stuff while away at camp, so I had a lot of fun writing letters and packaging up little things to send him. Put a mark next to “Good Mom” deeds and helping the camp newbie feel the love at camp his first year! 🙂 On the packing list was of course a laundry bag. I found this in the $1 department at Target. I also found camp postcards, stationary & envelopes, and stickers in…
