What a great season of baseball for Alex! He had 2 spectacular coaches, husband and wife, Wade Benson & Jill Haas. Coach Benson was the Auburn University volleyball head coach who just resigned. His wife, Coach Haas, played for the American Women’s Baseball national team for the championship in Japan in 2000. To say we had really qualified coaches would be an understatement. We saw great improvements in Alex, as well as the entire team. End of the year party

A few weeks ago we went to Franklin, TN, which is about 20 miles south of Nashville. We were there for the last soccer tourney of the season! We stayed in Brentwood, TN (which is about half way in between Nashville and Franklin) at the Hyatt Place. Love, love, love those bed and breakfast places! We got in around 10:30 and hurried to bed for we knew 7 am would come quickly. We got up, enjoyed our Continental Breakfast, and got over to the fields in time for Teenager to warm up and prepare for his game. They pulled out…

Over at This Life is Sweet today, she did a meme called Wee Bit Wednesday and I decided to give it a shot as well! {one} what profession have you always admired? I’ve always admired doctors and nurses or really anyone in the medical field. {two} what would the title of your memoir/biography be if it was written today? If I was writing a book about myself, I’d take more than 5 minutes to come up with a good title! {three} how far do you commute to work? Depends on the time of day and what time of year it…

::::::Random thoughts:::::: Not only the last concert of the year, but Drew’s… last concert at DMS. last concert as a 7th grader. I tapped my toe. I shook my leg. I couldn’t stop grinning from ear to ear. The songs made me happy. I took way too many pictures. I wanted to jump on the front row and start playing. I’m amazed at the growth Drew and the band has shown this year. And yes, I totally cried…

Ahhhhh!!! I’m so upset right now and instead of putting part of this on my facebook, I’m going to do what I used to do and blog about it! So here goes…you have been forewarned. First, let me give some background info. Every summer our church has a “Sweat Week” for 6-12th graders. Sweat Week is where the teenagers sleep at the church for 3 or 4 nights and they spend each day doing mission work around the community. Last year Drew helped sort donations at the Salvation Army drop off center, shovel horse waste at a Horse Camp for…

This week is Children’s Book Week! Yay! Since Children’s books are my favorite, I’m bubbling with excitement to share my favorite children’s books of all time. When I started thinking back to the books I had growing up, this is one that comes to mind first. I remember purchasing this at a school book fair. I couldn’t have been more excited. It remained one my fav books and I still have it today. Little Rabbit’s Loose Tooth The Dollhouse Murders reeled me in and made me a lover of mystery and suspense. Judy Blume, although controversial, her books were some…

I found a fun new “meme” on This Life is Sweet yesterday and decided it would be fun. Fill in the Blank Fridays originates from The Little Things We Do. 1. I am looking forward to our trip this weekend. More about that later! 2. Something kind of embarrassing that I still love anyway is how silly I get when I’m so tired I can hardly stand it. 3. My favorite car is a Red Beamer, like this one: 4. If I could pick one type of weather to live with for the rest of my life it would be…

Here’s a couple pics from Saturday and Sunday when we went camping. Our weekend started with Alex’s baseball game in Auburn at 9:30 am. We booked it out of there, back home to finish packing for our camping/soccer trip up in Birmingham. We had to have Drew on the field at 1:00. We made it with no issues and even had time to run through a drive-thru. After Drew’s victorious soccer game, we followed the Farrows to Oak Mountain State Park. Praying that they had a place for us tent camp, we were shocked to find out there was only…

Saturday We left Saturday morning at crack-o-dawn to head down to get Drew. Drew was in Orange Beach, AL for a soccer tourney. He had gone down earlier in the week since it was spring break to enjoy some time on the beach before his games began on Saturday. So that was about a 4 hour detour. We stayed for both games. Got to have some Shrimp Po-boys at the Shrimp Basket. We got out of town about 3ish. Spring Break traffic was horrific, so we ended up going a different way. We had planned to drive straight through, but…

1. Today is a good day because… I got to spend extra time with Rob. 2. The best thing I did all week was… I got to have lunch with my best bud. 3. Paula Deen: It Ain’t All About the Cookin’ In Paula Deen‘s book, It Ain’t All About the Cookin’, she holds nothing back. I adore her candidness. I’ll start off by warning you that if you think of Paula Deen as “a flawless southern woman,” then this book is not for you. She sugarcoats nothing, which I really appreciated. She starts off by dropping a ‘small’ bombshell and for those of you who may read it, I won’t ruin it for you. For me, it was something I had suspected from her, but really I shouldn’t let it bother me. A…
