Yes I’m still up. My SIL is here burning a DVD on Rob’s computer and she’s waiting for it to finish. We’re watching video of 2001 Drum Corp Comp. I’ve got to go to bed though. My sleeping schedule is going to be off and I have to go to work Monday.

Removed the chat box…

Need to go shopping…have hardly anything to wear to work, which starts next week. Students start Aug. 3. Need to go grocery shopping. I’ve just been in a bad mood the last few days and haven’t felt like doing anything. I guess I’m feeling overwhelmed. I did get my room ready. Just a few things left, but nothing major. Guess I’m gonna go for now.

Please excuse the sentence fragments…LOL!

Well, I went to my 2 inservices yesterday and today. I got my room pretty much ready. I’ve just got to make my desk tags and start planning. I also laminated a ton of stuff, so now I need to go cut it all out! We went and got the kids from my mother-in-law. Well, we actually met her in LaGrange again. Alex is just growing and learning so much! Drew looks like a beach bum…tan and blond!! Tomorrow is my last day of summer! I’d like to get the house clean and everything put away from all these trips and stuff! So I guess I’m gonna go now and get the boys to bed and then try to get some of the laminated stuff cut out!

More about our trip to New York:

FRIDAY in New York –
We got up and went down to the Fox News Building where they were doing Fox
and Friends 1st Edition.  We looked in the window and
watched.  Then the Fox and Friends crew came in (
Brian Kilmeade, E.D. Hill, Steve Doocy).  We stayed during the entire 2 hour show and we met Brian Kilmeade & Steve Doocy.  It was really awesome.  We were on TV during part of the show.  During the show we looked over and saw Orlando Salinas
who works for FOX news also.  He was there with his family and we
got a picture with him and his family.  After the show was over we
were walking back to our hotel to figure out the rest of the day and we
saw
Lauren Green leaving.
She had flip flops on with a skirt and sunglasses.  We didn’t
bother her.  So the rest of the day consisted of site-seeing and
picture taking by
Subway.  Here’s where we went:

Macy’s
Empire State Building
Central Park
Grand Central Station

Friday evening we went to the Ford Theatre where we saw 42nd Street, which was awesome!!!  We ate paninis at a resturant right near the theatre.

SATURDAY in New York –
We took a subway to Ground Zero.  Then, we went to Pier 83 and
took a Circle Line Cruise.  We saw Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, several bridges, and great views of Manhattan.

Saturday afternoon, we went to the Palace Theatre where we saw Aida, which was awesome!!!  After that we headed over to the Apple Store in Soho.

Saturday evening we went to the http://www.eltonjohn.com/flash_index.asp at Radio City Music Hall. He played with his band, a full orchestra, and a choir. It was great! After that we ate a chinese place, which was good.

SUNDAY in New York –
We
went on a bus tour of New York where we saw famous buildings that have
been in movies and TV shows. We also went shopping. Then it was time to
take a Taxi back La Guardia. It was a GREAT trip and we look forward to
going back soon!! If I think of anything else I’ll add it later!

This is a really cool site that shows Movie Locations In NY!

This shows where TV shows are taped, like David Letterman and The View!

See our trip pictures here.

Famous People we saw:

Shirley Jones  (from the Partridge Family)
Patrick Cassidy
Deborah Cox
Adam Pascal
Micky Dolenz (from the Monkey’s)
Sean Hannity
Brian Kilmeade
E.D. Hill
Steve Doocy
Orlando Salinas
Alan Colmes
Lisa Bloom (court TV)
Lauren Green
Lis Wiehl (legal analyst from FOX news)
Tobin Smith, founder and chairman of ChangeWave Research

Something I didn’t mention was that while in New York I developed an ingrown toe nail! Ughhghghgh! Pain! I went to the doctor today and they permanently removed that section of the toenail. For those of you who don’t know, I had my 2 big toe nails completely removed permanently when I was about 10. I’ve got a workshop tomorrow and Thursday. Luckily their half day workshops. I’ve so much work to do on my room at school though. Well, I’m gonna go for now. More later….

Wow! What a trip to New York! It was so awesome. We got into New York Thursday night and took a taxi to our hotel, the Quality Suites Time Square. We checked in and then headed out to check the big apple! We walked around Time Square. So amazing…the electicity they use! Bright lights and high definition screens all over! Rob and I are both BIG FANS of Fox News. In fact we stayed on the same block as their building. So we went over there. We looked in a group of windows and saw a control room with a bunch of TV screens and people working. Then we went to the next set of windows and low and behold if it wasn’t HANNITY AND COLMES doing their show!! So cool! We love that show!! It only had about 10 minutes left so we watched and from outside. After the show was over we were joking around that it would be cool if we saw Sean Hannity come out and get in his car!

A few minutes later I looked in there and there he was on his way out!!!! Thinking he didn’t want to be bothered and we just said hi to him and Rob told him that he had been “Hannitized”, (which just means we like him and we think a lot like he does). He stopped and asked where we were from and shook our hands. A SUPER nice guy!! He asked if we were enjoying the big city and we said yes. We told him it was great to meet him and we’d love to see him again in Atlanta (he’s from there). He told us to have a great trip and that he’d be back in Atlanta soon. He had a driver with him. They got in a Lincoln and took off. WHAT A NICE GUY!! So personable and down to earth!! After that we were in complete shock. Star stuck, I guess you’d say! We walked around a bit more and then we went and ate at La Prima Donna, which was a nice, but reasonable Italian Restaurant right next to our hotel. Then, we went back to the hotel since it was about midnight now, planned for the next day, and slept.

I’ll write more about our trip later…too much to write at once!!

HASH(0x89684c4)

Your soul is OPTIMISTIC. You tend to look to the brighter side of things, and your positive outlook on life makes others happy. People love your open, unassuming nature and your innocent belief in good for you, the grass on your side of the fence is always greener. You are rarely, if ever, pessimistic or doubtful, and you try your hardest to make life the best it can be, for yourself and others. You are a joyful and radiant soul.

How funny….Can an optimist be a worry wart too? I feel like that’s all I’ve done lately is worry, worry, worry! I’m really trying to take some of my own advice though and take 1 day at a time!

Tomorrow Drew goes to enrichment until noon. Then, I’ve got to meet my mother-in-law in Lagrange, so she can have the kids while we go to New York. Tomorrow night we’re going to a DCI contest. I’m looking forward to that!

I made it through my 2nd day of the math workshop. I went to the store, washed clothes, got info typed up for Alice, and started packing for the boys. It’s late and I better get my tail in the bed!

After a long day at a TEAM Math workshop, I’m exhausted! When I got home from that we went and got our “new” car. We’re glad to have that done. Now we just got to tag it and stuff. Anyway, back to the workshop, I’ve got one more day of it tomorrow. Wednesday I’ve got to meet my mother-in-law, because she’s going to have the kids until Sunday. We’re going to a DCI contest (drum & bugle corp) Wednesday night. Thursday night we’re leaving for New York. Workshop, pack for the kids, pack for us, clean the house, grocery store…don’t think I have enough to do! But I’m not complaining!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Rob!!!

29 years and counting!

We went car searching thing morning. Rob’s mom came to watch the
kids while we hunted. Luckily we were only out a couple hours and
we found a car, a ’92 Honda Accord. Remember we’re just replacing
the car we had. We will get it Monday. I’m glad to have the
job of finding a car over with! So now we’re visiting with Rob’s
mom and enjoying the fact we’re done car shopping.

Yesterday I took Alex to the dr. for his 4 month check up. He’s doing great! He’s 16 lbs. 4 oz., 25 3/4 inches long. Dr. says he has amazing head control and muscle tone. He got 4 injections, which made him a bit fussy last night.

Alex’s been constipated the last few days. The dr. recommended M.O.M. or apple juice or apple/prune juice. Yesterday I gave him some apple juice, which he enjoyed. Today he had problems again. I let him try the apple/prune juice, which he liked pretty well. It didn’t seem to help though, because he was real fussy tonight.

Rob and I have mulled over the idea of getting a sweet new car or just replace what we had with something comparable. We finally decided that we’re going to go the cheaper route. Now we just have to find one! Hopefully we’ll have this all done soon!

I know it’s late, but I’m about to go to bed. I was just playing around here, thinking about changing the way my page looks. Don’t think I’m ready to do that. Can’t find any skins I really like, so I guess I’ll have to figure out how to make my own someday.

Wish I was here again!

We’re back! We left at 5:30 this morning and got home a little before 5 p.m. I’m tired and have so much to do the next few days.

I owe a huge THANK YOU to Rob for driving to Texas after being in the wreck Thursday and being in a lot of pain!

Hope everyone had a great 4th!

I have tons of phone calls to make, tons of laundry, etc! We gotta buy a new car before Monday! I have to go to a workshop out of town next Monday and Tuesday. We leave for New York next
Thursday. Thinking about all this, makes me realize I only have 2 and 1/2 weeks left till I’m back at work for good. I’m real excited about my new job, but the summer has been incredibly busy!

Note to self:
Take 1 day at a time and STOP worrying!!!!!!

I’m about to pack my computer up. We’re taking Drew to his last swimming lesson and then we’re heading to Texas. I probably won’t be posting while we’re there, so I’ll write when I get back Wed. or Thurs. We’ll be buying a new car when we get back. The protege is a total loss!

Uhhh! Rob was in a wreck today in the Protege, which we believe to be totalled! Rob is bruised up and really sore. We’re getting ready to go to Texas tomorrow and now all this! I’m thankful Rob is ok and there’s some other positives that Rob brought up, like we’re about to pay off the explorer – so we won’t have two car payments. It’s the summer so that’s good. We’ll see what happens.
