Historic Fourth Ward Park

If you’re ever in Midtown Atlanta, the Historic Fourth Ward Park is a great place to checkout. This 17 acre park which is divided into 2 sections was built on the land where Ponce de Leon amusement park used to be. There are plans for this park to eventually total 30 acres. I found this park while looking for places to check out when I was in Atlanta with Rob and I needed something to do while he was in a conference all day.

I was quite impressed with the beauty and design of the park. Watching the ducks and other birds, listening to the sound of the fountain, and just enjoying the peacefulness as I walk around was lovely.

The play area for kids looks like so much fun. Jungle gym, water spouts, checkers. Since I took these pictures they’ve added more to the playground, so it’s even better than what you see here. These play areas may also include various Play structures for educational institutions to help encourage kids to play outside more.

There is also a skate park, but I didn’t walk to that area of the park. You read about it—>
