My family always enjoys the boneless wings that I make, but this summer I decided to try something a little different. I checked out a great grill book from the library and found lots of great recipes in in it. These Asian Chicken Wings are so delicious. They are good served with your favorite rice and snap peas or even baked beans depending on your mood.
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes plus time to marinade
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
10 chicken wings (about 2 ½ lbs) – I used the full chicken wings because I couldn’t find regular chicken wings.
½ cup red plum sauce
½ cup soy sauce
1 tsp. mustard powder
1 tbs. dark sesame oil
1 tsp. dried crushed red pepper
Extra-virgin olive oil
Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Directions:
1.Combine plum sauce, soy sauce, Chinese mustard, and dark sesame oil in a large ziplock bag. Add chicken and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight is even better.
2. Remove chicken from marinade and discard marinade.
3. Lightly brush or spray wings with oil
4. Sear over direct medium heat until well marked
5. Continue grilling over indirect medium heat until the meat is no longer pink at bone which should be about 10-20 minutes depending on the size of the wings.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds if so desired.
I serve with rice and sugar snap peas.
