New York City: Places to Visit

By | October 3, 2023

New York City is a place everyone should visit at least once in your life time, even if you’re not into big cities. This city while very crowded, is a magical place. Statue of Liberty, Time Square, and Bryan Park are just a few places you should visit while you’re there. If your next travel destination is going to be New York, then this is certainly an exciting time.

Statue of Liberty
Statue Of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is often the first iconic location people think of when they think of New York City. Located on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, this mammoth neoclassical, copper sculpture was a gift from the people of France in the summer of 1885. They’re are several different areas to visit. I know one time when we were visiting there, we tried getting tickets to go inside the crown, but that I was already booked. So if you’re interested in check out the inside of the crown book early! You can also visit the pedestal, the museum, and Ellis Island. Be sure to do your research before booking so you don’t miss out!

Bryant Park
Bryant Park is a 9.6-acre (39,000 m2) public park located in the New York City borough of Manhattan. The eastern half of Bryant Park is occupied by the Main Branch of the New York Public Library. The western half has shaded walkways, as well as a carousel, is located entirely over an underground structure that houses the library’s stacks. The park hosts several events, including a seasonal “Winter Village” with an ice rink and shops during the winter.

Time Square
Times Square
Times Square is New York’s most famous land mark so it is definitely a “must see” at least once in your lifetime. From the wall to wall neon lights and Outdoor billboard advertising to the people to the shopping. It is the liveliest and probably most crowded areas in the city. It is located at the intersection of Broadway and 7th Avenue. There are tons of restaurants, bars, theaters, museums, and no doubt a happening atmosphere. You’ll also find some of the most interesting street performers, so be sure and look for those.

What do you recommend seeing while in NYC?

I hate big cities with a passion but I LOVE New York City with that same passion. I would highly recommend visiting Central Park and The High Line as well. And really, even if you don’t love shopping, a stroll down 5th Avenue is the best way to window shop and people watch at the same time.
