Everglades Airboat Tour and Gator Show

By | June 2, 2015

We arrived at Captain Jack’s to get tickets for our airboat tour. Before going there we stopped at the convenient store for some breakfast. I saw Zinger’s and was quickly taken back to the times my Dad and I would stop at a 7-11 and I would get Zingers. Anyway, we got over to the loading place for the airboats and soon our names were called and we were off for an adventure of a life time. You can take a look at this product which is suitable to repair any works while riding in the boat.

The tour started off by going right up to a bridge, which we could not go under because on the other side was the Everglades National Park. Airboats are not allowed in the National Park. Then, we went a ways and spun around causing water to fly up, but we didn’t get soaked. From then on we went ‘flew’ super fast through a long narrow corridor through Mangroves. Absolutely amazing and really, really fast. We slowed down when we got to a cove area where every penny that we paid for the tour became worth it! Watch this quick video I made of what we saw in the cove.

The raccoons were really cute and I listened to our boat driver talk about how the gators get up on the edge of the mangroves and are able to snatch up baby raccoons for a quick meal. They’re so dang cute, but I understand its the circle of life.

After our airboat adventure, we wanted to take advantage of the activities that were included with our airboat tickets. We raced over to Wooten’s to watch a live gator show, hug a gator, and to see other the animal sanctuary. We each got to take several poses with Allie the Gator.

Caitlyn’s facials expressions were too funny. She loved holding the baby gator as you can see here.

More people showed up, so Gator Dave started the gator show. He was very entertaining and shared a lot of great knowledge.

He even kissed the gator!

We didn’t get to stay for entire show, because we still needed to to explore the rest of the Everglades before driving down to the Keys.
