On our last day in New York, we got up and decided to explore Buffalo some more before heading back to Rochester to catch our flight home. We went to Canalside which is pretty area that runs along the Buffalo River. There were lots of people there kayaking and enjoying the beautiful day.
The “World’s Largest Rubber Duck” found a home on the Buffalo River for a few days, which obviously was quite eye catching. The bright yellow, vinyl duck rises six stories tall and weighs 1 ton! She was there for a 3 day visit during the Buffalo Maritime Festival.

I loved this view of Buffalo Main Light. This is a lighthouse at the mouth of Buffalo River/Erie canal, directly across from the Erie Basin Marina in Buffalo, New York.
We spent a couple hours walking around the Waterfront and then wanted to drive around to see more of Buffalo.
Pearl Street Grill & Brewery was neat looking spot that we passed by on our way to the waterfront.
St. Josephs Cathedral in Buffalo because I love old churches.
We drove by the Sahlen Field, home of the Buffalo Bisons, a Minor League Baseball team – Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. This is actually picture of the pub entrance, which I think now is called Consumer’s Pub at the Park.
We drove over to Bills Stadium aka New Era Field located in Orchard Park, New York, the southern portion of the Buffalo metro area. The stadium opened in 1973 and is the home of the NFL Buffalo Bills.
On our way back to Rochester we stopped in Hamburg to see if we could find something to eat. No luck there, but we did stop here for some pics. Hamburg is a town in Erie County, New York, named after the city of Hamburg in Germany.

We made a quick stop at Wegman’s for some more New York grown apples. So good!
Ever been to a grocery store with a train track above the Dairy section?
We also ate Chinese for lunch and on to the airport. This is the Clock of Nations, which I thought was really interesting. It apparently was removed in 2017 because of renovations. There are no plans to display it as it now sits in storage. That is sad!
What a great little trip is was! We hope to get back to Rochester in the future. So much to see and do. We’d really like to explore more areas, Five Finger Lakes, Washington Grove, Susan B. Anthony House, etc.

What a great trip, I would love to visit that area some day. I have traveled very little in the Northeast, other than business trips. Fall looks like a great time to go!

Wow – you got some great shots! I have never been anywhere in that part of the country and it was fun to enjoy it through your photos! Gotta love that yellow duck!!:)

We ate at the Pearl Street pub and brewery when we were in Buffalo for the day; the food was so good! All those hanging plants really caught our eye.
I know. It was such an eye catching place. Too bad we didn’t get to eat there.
