With the upcoming year just around the corner, I’ve been thinking about my goals, plans, and dare I say, resolutions for the new year. One of the things I want to do is memorize bible verses. I’ve always loved the idea that I’ve seen shared on Pinterest with a daily scripture, but in order for me to actually memorize the verses, I need more time to study that verse. Who’s with me? I just have a terrible short term memory when it comes to stuff like this, I feel like this is a much better fit for me.
The 15th of every month will be when you see a new post for the upcoming Scripture-A-Week page. I’m going to print the page out and it keep it my planner folder or you could keep it in a separate binder Whatever works best for you.
I chose to put 5 verses on each monthly page Scripture-A-Week page. Some months have 5 weeks, so that would cover that, plus I had the idea that if there’s a really short verse and you get it memorized you could have an extra to one to work on the rest of the week.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been thinking about what January brings and what types of verses I, as well as others, would find helpful during that time. I love the new year as it’s a time of renewal and just a clean slate when it comes to life.
Here are the 5 verses for January:
Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.
~Psalm 98:1
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
~Jeremiah 29:11
23 Love the LORD, all his faithful people! The LORD preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full. 24 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.
~Psalm 31:23-24
22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
~Lamentations 3:22-23
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
~Isaiah 40:31
