Lately, I’ve been drawn to stories that explore connection, resilience, and the quiet power of transformation. Each show or series I’ve watched lately has offered something different: a moment of reflection, a spark of outrage, or a comforting escape. Here’s a glimpse into what’s been on my screen and on my mind.

Movies/Docuseries
Bad Influence The Dark Side of Kidfluencing is a three-part Netflix docuseries exposes the hidden exploitation behind the glittery world of child influencers. Through firsthand accounts, it reveals how viral fame often came at the cost of emotional safety, boundaries, and trust.
I was especially disturbed by how these kids were eager for connection and creativity yet they were manipulated and misused. Their vulnerability wasn’t protected; it was monetized. That betrayal lingers.
God Family Football is a docuseries follows a high school football team in Louisiana led by legendary coach Denny Duron. Blending faith, mentorship, and grit, it explores how sports can shape character, community, and second chances on and off the field.
Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall is about two high school seniors—Remi and Barnes. They form a connection that deepens over four days spread across the seasons. Each encounter reveals new layers of vulnerability, growth, and emotional resonance as they navigate the shifting terrain of youth, identity, and love. With a gentle rhythm and poetic tone, the film captures how fleeting moments can shape a lifetime.
TV Shows
Life with the Walter Boys Season 2 dropped August 28, 2025 and I was so excited for it. It really drives me crazy how Netflix takes so long to produce new seasons. My Life with the Walter Boys follows Jackie, a city girl whose life takes a dramatic turn when she moves in with a lively family of seven boys in rural Colorado. It’s a story of self-discovery, emotional growth, and finding connection in unexpected places.
Ransom Canyon is a romantic drama series set in a rugged Texas town, where love, healing, and second chances unfold against sweeping landscapes and small-town charm. It leans into its heartfelt themes with a generous dose of cheesiness. Think dramatic declarations, slow-burning romances, and cozy clichés that make it feel like a warm, familiar escape.
The Shrink Next Door is a dark comedy-drama about a wealthy man whose therapist slowly takes over his life. It’s gripping, unsettling, and often frustrating to watch, especially as the manipulation unfolds and no one steps in.
Loot is an Apple TV+ comedy about a billionaire navigating life after divorce by diving into philanthropy. As she reconnects with purpose and people outside her bubble, the show explores themes of reinvention, generosity, and finding joy beyond wealth.
The Morning Show Season 4 on Apple TV+ is set in a polarized media landscape, the newsroom faces deepfakes, conspiracy theories, and corporate cover-ups. As trust erodes and power shifts, the season explores truth, ambition, and survival in a world where nothing is quite what it seems.
Doc (Netflix) is a medical drama about a brilliant doctor rebuilding her life and career after a memory loss. Set in a busy hospital, it explores identity, resilience, and second chances.
The Way Home (Netflix) is a heartfelt drama about three generations of women reconnecting through time, secrets, and healing in a small town.

I use the app TV Time app to help me keep up with everything I’m watching, because I really do watch a lot of TV.
From the unsettling truths of Bad Influence to the tender rhythms of Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, these stories have stayed with me in different ways. Some challenged my sense of justice, others offered comfort or nostalgia, and a few simply made me laugh. Whether I’m watching for insight, escape, or emotional resonance, I’m always grateful for the way good storytelling lingers and how it helps me make sense of the world, one episode at a time.

I watched Bad Influence-it was so sad to see what those kids have gone through (and some still go through). Ransom Canyon was so good!
The only one I’ve watched from this list is Doc; but we only made it through 1 or perhaps 2 episodes so far.
