The holiday season is my favorite time of year. I love soaking up all that the Christmas season has to offer, from the smells, the decorations, the food, Christmas movies, cooking for the occasion. There’s not much that I don’t like about the Christmas season. Snow makes me excited. Living in the South, we don’t see snow much. When we do, I enjoy staying home from school/work. On Christmas Eve, Rob’s Dad and Step-Mom arrived. I decided to do a nice meal and make it something a little more traditional. So I made a homemade marinaded/injected for a ham with green beans and pecan praline sweet potatoes. It was SO yum! Christmas morning after Santa dropped by! This morning we went up to Atlanta for the Children’s Christmas Parade. We really enjoyed the parade and it really got us in the Christmas spirit. Afterwards, we walked over to Peachtree Center and ate at El Ninfa’s for lunch. After that we headed back home so we could watch the SEC Championship game on TV. The weekend before Thanksgiving, we headed up to Greenville, SC for the final soccer tourney of this half of the season for Drew. We didn’t get out of town until after 6 because I had to work, which was fine. We had opted not to leave earlier, because we were trying to avoid Atlanta traffic. Our ride there was good, and happily arrived around 11 pm to our hotel. We stayed at the Hyatt Place. Saturday we woke up bright and early to get out to the fields for an 8 a.m. game. Yesterday I was able to sit back (for the most part) and enjoy the day. Being observant of my surroundings, I became mindful of how thankful I am for a few things, like: great in-laws that I get along with a brother-in-law that is quite helpful and enjoys being with his nephews making it a family tradition to have homemade pasta every Christmas Rob’s Italian heritage, which enables us to have that homemade pasta a nice home to be able to host holidays 2 healthy boys that have such a sweet heart and I really appreciate when they “show” it…

Today I spent nearly the entire day making everything for tomorrow: Oreo balls Banana Nut Bread Muffins Spinach Artichoke Dip Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Cookies Sausage Balls Sausage-Cheese English muffins (make-ahead snack or breakfast) After all that cooking, I was exhausted! Then, heading to Columbus to eat at Chef Lee’s. Coming home to watch the SEC & ACC Championship games. The next day we finished decorating the tree and putting up the other decorations, enjoyed a warm fire, and watched our favorite Christmas movie of all time, Christmas Vacation! Looking forward to having a wonderful Christmas embraced by love and tradition.
