    Roadtrip {Greenville, SC}

    The weekend before Thanksgiving, we headed up to Greenville, SC for the final soccer tourney of this half of the season for Drew. We didn’t get out of town until after 6 because I had to work, which was fine. We had opted not to leave earlier, because we were trying to avoid Atlanta traffic. Our ride there was good, and happily arrived around 11 pm to our hotel. We stayed at the Hyatt Place. Saturday we woke up bright and early to get out to the fields for an 8 a.m. game. The game ended in a tie. We…

    2009 Blog Review

    I was reminded by Lisanne (blog removed) of a post I did back in 2006 at New Years and decided to do the post again for 2009. Post the first sentence of the first post of each month. I did mine with the first post that wasn’t a recipe or I heart faces post. January It seems that nearly every blog I read today shows people having fun in the snow. February Be sure to check out I ♥ Faces to see all the other beautiful faces that have been entered into the contest! March We woke up to beautiful…

    Blessings

    Yesterday I was able to sit back (for the most part) and enjoy the day. Being observant of my surroundings, I became mindful of how thankful I am for a few things, like: great in-laws that I get along with a brother-in-law that is quite helpful and enjoys being with his nephews making it a family tradition to have homemade pasta every Christmas Rob’s Italian heritage, which enables us to have that homemade pasta a nice home to be able to host holidays 2 healthy boys that have such a sweet heart and I really appreciate when they “show” it…

    Christmas Eve {2009}

    Today I spent nearly the entire day making everything for tomorrow: Oreo balls Banana Nut Bread Muffins Spinach Artichoke Dip Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Cookies Sausage Balls Sausage-Cheese English muffins (make-ahead snack or breakfast) After all that cooking, I was exhausted! I relaxed while watching White Christmas, which is not one of my favorite Christmas movies! I need to go adjust my top 10 Christmas movies again. I was dreading cooking dinner after being in the kitchen practically all day, so I was very happy when Rob reminded me that a friend of ours was bringing over some homemade lasagna.…

    This Weekend in Review

    This weekend has been fashioned from traditions that we’ve started, enjoying each others company, searching for a tree, cutting it down at Lakeside Tree Farm. Then, heading to Columbus to eat at Chef Lee’s. Coming home to watch the SEC & ACC Championship games. The next day we finished decorating the tree and putting up the other decorations, enjoyed a warm fire, and watched our favorite Christmas movie of all time, Christmas Vacation! Looking forward to having a wonderful Christmas embraced by love and tradition.

    Christmas Eve 2008

    Every Christmas Eve, I let the boys open one present each. Drew always knows what it is, but never says it out loud until he opens it. It’s always a Christmas-y set of pajamas. This year these pajamas proved to be quite a conundrum for me. I was happy to find Alex’s PJs early in my shopping adventures. I could never find Drew any PJs, so I ended up pullin’ my self out of bed very early on Christmas Eve morning to head out and find some for him. I went back to Target, where they had some cute ones…

    Table Decorations

    After making the Gingerbread house, I had the boys go out in the yard and look for some pine cones. I painted them. Then pulled out some glittery thingys and some glue. The boys decorated them and we placed them on the table wear the food was going to be on Christmas Day. Making fancy pine cones for Christmas Day table decorations. This was before all the food got put on the table. We had 2 tables FULL of food! Good times! Family, food, and lots of fun.

    Christmas Gingerbread House

    The few days that Drew had off before Christmas we enjoyed some of our traditions that we try to make time for every year. One of which is making a Gingerbread House. Last year, we didn’t get to it. This year I stepped back and tried to let the kids do as much as possible. Enjoy the pictures:

    Chicken Pizza-ola Sandwich

    I have been absolutely lovin’ Subway’s Chicken Pizza-ola Sandwich lately. However, I haven’t been loving spending $7 a pop, so I decided to see if I could make one at home. It turned out marvelously and what I love is that I spend less money and I can easily alter how it’s made. Servings: 4 Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 15 minutes Ingredients: 2 tbsp Olive oil 4 hoagies split 2 chicken breasts 10-14 pieces of pepperoni pizza sauce 1 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella garlic powder Optional: black olives banana peppers Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350. 2.…

    Christmas Decor – Part 3

    This edition of my Christmas Decor showcases my Auburn decorations. This is an Auburn candy cane, which I keep hanging on the microwave stand year round! I guess I should put it on the Christmas tree, but I just never moved him from his normal spot! This was given to us by a coworker of Rob’s who’s son is into glass working. I love it! My Millenium Auburn Santa that Rob gave me and I absolutely LOVE it! I keep it out year round. Although last year he got put away. 🙁 The first year I was in Auburn, Rob…

    Christmas Decor – Part 2

    I just can’t seem to get into a groove of writing like I’d hoped. We’ve been busy buying for Christmas, planning the menu, etc! Oh the joys of CHRISTMAS! Anyway, I’m going to continue from my Part 1 post about decorations. A few years ago Rob’s parents added to my Clown collection with this adorable stocking holder. Up until last year we didn’t even have a mantel to put him on, so he sat up on the entertainment center with nothing hanging on him. We used to hang our stockings on our bannister seen here. I was so excited last…
