Happenings
Here’s my weekly posts to catch you up.
Week 10
Week 11
Week 12
Week 13 – post coming next week
Loving the show The Resident. I started watching this a couple weeks ago and could totally binge it. However, I decided to slow down/stop watching it so I have something good to watch during my recovery at home.
Happy to have my surgery scheduled.
Excited Not sure if I’m really excited about anything in particular.
Disappointments That Auburn Men’s Basketball team lost the 1st round in March Madness.
Dreading surgery and the recovery.
Reminiscing
I’ve really been missing when my boys were little for some reason. As I looked back through photos, I remembered meeting up with one of Alex’s field trips (Callaway Gardens) when he was in 2nd grade.
Social
Our monthly Emmaus Cluster dinner.
Work Memories
My coworker hired 2 new students to help with his courier deliveries. They are a great addition to our work family.
Lesson Learned I have been watching lots of videos about shoulder surgery recovery. I think this is going to prove to be so helpful as the doctor didn’t really prepare me much at all.
Current Project preparing for recovery after my shoulder surgery. Making sure I have everything I need, making easy to heat up meals, teaching Rob how to do things that he will need to do for me (like put my hair in a ponytail).
Drew and Caitlyn have been doing lots of yard projects.
Alex is no longer a teenager.
Rob‘s elbow has been bothering him. We feel like we’re just falling apart. 🙁
Most remembered Rob getting to go to the SEC Tournament in Nashville and Auburn winning!
Wearing I’m still wearing the same layered situation with pants. I’m hoping to start wearing skorts soon.
This Weekend It’s Easter weekend, but I’m not hosting this week, which means I won’t have much to do for that except make a strawberry pie to bring. I will be making several food items to freeze for after surgery.
Looking Forward to Next Month I feel like the topic of surgery has taken over this post, but I’m looking forward to getting the surgery behind me. The recovery time for rotator cuff/bicep tendon repair is quite lengthy. The sooner I start the sooner I’ll finish!
I’m really looking forward to our Texas trip next month as well, even if I’ll still be in my sling at that point.
FOOD
Eating Nothing too exciting.
Favorite I’ve mentioned it several times and I plan to share my tips (it’s not really a recipe) at some point, but the thick pork chops in the air fryer are the bomb!
