    31 Days of Must Read Cookbooks {Day 12}

    Here we are for Day 12 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old blog that scheduled ahead of time while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. The library recently got this cookbook called Bourbon Desserts. At the time, I had been bouncing around the idea of picking up some bourbon for some recipes in this book. This recipe for Watermelon Julep Pops are no doubt on my list to make next summer! This Lane cake is just too precious. Never knew this was a cake of Alabama until just recently. This book is a must read cookbook…

    31 Days of Must Read Cookbooks {Day 10}

    Here we are for Day 10 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Maida Heatter’s Book of Great Desserts is a book originally written in the 60’s, but I found it to be a timeless, classic cookbook. Maida shares so amazing tips in the beginning part of the book. She goes over must know information about ingredients and procedures that are essential for great baking. I am super anxious to try the Black Bottom Pecan Cream Pie, which sounds very interesting and quite indulgent. Another one that is on…

    31 Days of Must Read Cookbooks {Day 9}

    Here we are for Day 9 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Some of these books will be books that are part of my collection that I have found useful through the years, while others are books I come across in the library. Today the cookbook I’m featuring is called Southern Living Best Loved Cookies: 50 Melt-in-Your-Mouth Southern Morsels. I found this in the library while perusing the stacks. I love cookies and really I can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t! Since I try not to buy cookies, I…

    31 Days of Must Read Cookbooks {Day 7}

    Here we are for Day 7 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Some of these books will be books that are part of my collection that I have found useful through the years, while others are books I come across in the library. My 7th book of this series that I’m recommending is one by Taylor Mathis, who used to blog and be a food photographer. When updating this post, I couldn’t find what he’s up to these days. Anyway, I used to follow him before this book…

    31 Days of Must Read Cookbooks {Day 6}

    Here we are for Day 6 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Today I’m sharing a book I found in the library called The Moosewood Cookbook. Although, the cover is plain when I flipped through the pages I was totally intrigued. I loved the handwritten look of everything from the recipes to the crafty little drawings. It’s another book based off a restaurant. The Moosewood Restaurant is located in Ithaca, New York. Mollie Katzen is the editor and illustrator for the book. She was a cook at Moosewood…

    31 Days of Must Read Cookbooks {Day 5}

    Here we are for Day 5 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. I’d love to hear what your favorite cookbook is? Happy Tuesday, everyone! Hope everyone is having a lovely week so far. Today the cookbook I’m sharing is a perfect one to get those kids in the kitchen with you. American Grub – Eats for Kids from All Fifty States is a book that I used back when I used to teach. It was a family homework activity, where I would “force” parents to get in the…

    31 Days of Must Read Cookbooks {Day 4}

    Here we are for Day 4 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Some of these books will be books that are part of my collection that I have found useful through the years, while others are books I come across in the library. When I started researching for this 31 days project, I knew I wanted a good Mexican cookbook. I found Rick Bayless’s cookbook called Authentic Mexican: Regional Cooking from the Heart of Mexico. This book covers all areas of Mexican food and while it does that…

    31 Days of Must Read Cookbooks {Day 3}

    If you missed my first couple of posts from this series, I’m moving these posts over from old blog, with an updated title photo and links as I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. I did all this back in March so that my blog wouldn’t go dark during this time. Enjoy! The cookbook for today is one I got the other day for my birthday; The Southern Slow Cooker Bible: 365 Easy and Delicious Down-Home Recipes by Tammy Algood. My mouth was just a watering, last night as I read this book. I wanted to run in the kitchen and start…

    31 Days of Must Read Cookbooks {Day 2}

    Today I’m sharing another cookbook post from my old blog. Today is my shoulder surgery, so I humbly ask for thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Hope you enjoy today’s post! For today’s cookbook I’m sharing with you one of my good old stand-byes: Selections from Better Homes and Garden New Cook Book. A cookbook that has made life’s journey with me since I’ve lived in Auburn. My Grandparents loved to send me care packages when I was a student living in the dorms at Texas Tech. That didn’t change when I moved to Auburn either. What changed was…

    31 Days of Must Read Cookbooks {Day 1}

    Since I’m having shoulder surgery Tuesday, and probably won’t be able to blog for a bit, I was rummaging through posts that never got moved over from my old blog. I decided to bring over a series I did back in 2014 about cookbooks. I’m not exactly sure how long it will be before I can type so I’m spreading the 31 days out over the next 8 weeks. I’m going to be in a sling for 6 weeks. I’m actually writing this back in March, so I’m still unsure about how all this will go, but I didn’t want…
