Picking back up with our San Fran adventures. If you missed the last post>>>Sunday in San Fran. This was the day we shifted from city exploring to life at sea. Morning light filled the room, and our ship sat anchored in the distance, hinting that the next chapter was close. With our bags packed and a few free hours left, we wandered through a couple more San Francisco favorites before making our way to the port.
We packed up all our things so we wouldn’t have to deal with it later, then went to explore things within walking distance and get something to eat.
Our walk led us to Yerba Buena Gardens, which was such a calm spot in the middle of downtown.
One of the highlights at Yerba Buena Gardens is the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial with a beautiful water feature, so we took a moment to see it. The memorial has that big waterfall wall you can walk under, which is such a cool feature.
We went back to Caffe Central. Rob got the OoLaLa crepe and bacon and I got the chicken pesto crepe. So good! That is a must go to if you’re in the area.
After our late breakfast we headed back to the hotel, but walked through Union Square on the way.
We went up to the room, took a quick nap and then got our stuff, ordered the Uber, and headed down. The San Fransisco cruise port was so easy. We timed it perfectly. No wait and were on the ship in like 10 minutes.
We did our normal routine of dropping our stuff in our room and then walking around to get a feel for the ship.
Once 1:30 hit, we went back to our rooms and started to unpack. We could not miss our departure from San Fransisco so we went back up to lido deck.
Sailing under the Golden Gate especially on a cruise ship because you’re so high up is epic!!
And very windy!!
We went to dinner and were the first people there at our table so we sat all the way by the window to allow others to file next to us easier. It was a table for 10. The next couple got there and the waitress was pointing to the chairs across from us and the female guest asked if they could sit ‘here instead’ which was at the opposite end of table. That just made it super awkward. It got even worse when another couple showed up and sat with them across from the table, making it look like we were the rude ones.
After dinner, we went to the Welcome Aboard Show with our cruise director, Adam and the Playlist crew.

What an experience to see the Golden Gate that way! Ugh – sounds so awkward with the table seating.
