Today I’m picking up where we left off, still in San Francisco. The first day gave us sea lions, sourdough, and a long-awaited whale sighting. Read about that>>>Saturday in San Fran Now we’re diving into our day in Chinatown.

We took a cable car to Chinatown and walked around trying to figure out where we wanted to eat lunch. We ended up at House of Xian Dumplings. So good! We ordered shrimp and pork dim sum to start with Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Chicken. All of it delicious!

We walked over to Golden Gate Fortune Cookies Factory, which is a tiny, iconic spot tucked into Ross Alley in San Francisco’s Chinatown, where fortune cookies are still made by hand just like they were in 1962.

We happened upon Double Ten Celebration Parade. Double Ten Day commemorates the Wuchang Uprising, which led to the fall of the Qing Dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China.

From there we walked over to Peter Macchiarini Steps are a steep but scenic route that connects North Beach to the base of Coit Tower via Telegraph Hill.

Coit Tower is a 210-foot Art Deco landmark atop Telegraph Hill, offering panoramic views and historic murals that celebrate the city’s working-class heritage.

The views are spectacular!

We ordered a Waymo and took that back to the hotel. We chilled out in the hotel for a few hours and then walked down the street for dinner at Tony’s Pizza.
