Day 2 and 3 on our cruise were both days at sea. If you missed the 1st post from this cruise, it’s here>>>>Carnival Mardi Gras 2023 – Day 0 & 1
The weather surrounding us was making for some very windy, rough seas. Luckily none of were feeling sick. It just meant the Lido and upper decks weren’t open and/or lounge chairs weren’t out for people to enjoy.
That morning we got up and went to the Grand Atrium where the aerialists were even practicing for upcoming shows. Looking back now, I’m surprised they were even practicing with the ship rocking the way it was. It was quite enjoyable watching them that morning, while we waited for our table to be ready for breakfast.
This Grand Atrium area is amazing on the Carnival Mardi Gras. We have never been on a ship this big and new, but we loved it, especially when they had all the windows where we could look out.
Our cabin
That day we lazied around. I got a workout in at the gym. Went to comedy and some of played some trivia. I got a nap in before dinner.

Escargot
Night 2 the ariel/acrobat part of the show was canceled, so the we popped by for a second to see that they were just seeing, not even dancing. Then, we moved on.
Day 3
Walking around the ship after breakfast on Day 3, this was sad to see the chairs still put away.
A couple hours later we starting realizing the sun was coming out!
Finally after lunch, the upper deck areas started opening up and while it was still windy/rocky seas, I think the crew just had to open outside sections before people started going crazy. We were getting cabin fever and just wanted to be outside even if it was windy.
Such a joyous sight to see!
The guys and I got in the pool. It was chili and first, but it just felt good to be in the water. The girls opted to sit out.
That 3rd night was the first formal night. We took some pics of us all dressed up.
My guys at dinner
My next cruise post will share our 1st port of call, which was one of our favorites! San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Oh, I love your formal night dress! And how crazy was the weather that so much was closed off.
Wow, I am living vicariously through your travels. Hope to have a cruise of my own someday. Glad to see the weather cleared up and the sun came out. Thankful you weren’t seasick with the rough waters.
So glad the weather finally cleared up! You all look so nice in your formal wear.
