Welcome back to another week of iSpy! I heard from some of you that some of these prompts seemed kind of difficult. If you participated did they end up being as hard as you thought? I found a couple of them to be a little challenging, but that’s what makes me think more about those. Honestly, when I look through my list of prompts, I don’t usually have something preconceived in my head for what I want to do. In fact, I try really not to think about what I would do as I’m making the list.
Anyway, let’s get on with the fun. Here’s what I got this week.
wood This wood Coca-Cola crate is one of my favorite things ever. This was my Granny’s and she passed it along to me.
music For this as well as my button picture, I have added texture to them from The CoffeeShop Blog. I just felt like they were kind of boring and the texture layer spruced them up a bit. I’d be happy to talk more about that later if anyone is interested.
Easter (or Sunday if you don’t do Easter)

your choice – I don’t know why but I love taking pictures of crayons. I didn’t have anything that exciting to post for this weeks ‘your choice’ so I played around and go this shot.
This week I continued to use my new iPhone 12 Pro.
I’d love you to join along with us next week! Challenge yourself this week to step out of your comfort zone. Get low, go high, change your angle, get close, back up. Do something different with your shots this week! A couple simple guidelines..
1. Anyone can participate.
2. Since this challenge is meant to help you expand your eye for photography, try to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Or do as many as you got!
3. If you find yourself struggling, you may use one photo from your archive, but who will really know…
4. Link up here on Saturday or sometime before the next Saturday. You can use the button below or just a link would be nice.
5. Have fun iSpying!
For next week the prompts you will be looking to photograph or iSpy are as follows:
-turquoise (my favorite color)
-pill(s)
-dots or stripes
-starts with A
-your choice
This week I’d like you tell us what inspires you. I often seek inspiration from photography sites, like instagram, flickr, or 500px. Today and from here on out I’m going to share a picture or a link to a picture that inspired me that week. Here’s a picture that I just loved on Flickr by Jeff Clow.
Suggest a Prompt! If you have a prompt you would like to do, please comment below or email me with your ideas! I’ll keep a running list of those and use as needed.
Have fun with it! Happy iSpying!
I think it’s all the fun colors because I love taking photos of crayons, colored pencils, markers, paints… especially when they are arranged like you have them! I do find some of the prompts to be a challenge each week but funny enough it’s not always the prompt that I think sounds tricky at first.
Yes, I had to take that crayon pic like 30 times and I spent way too much time trying to get the word Crayola to all be the same.
I didn’t find this week’s prompt too complicated. Last week I struggled but this week I didn’t. I love the editing you did on the music and button pictures but my favourite picture this week is the “your choice” one. There’s nothing like fresh crayons.
I never mean for the prompts to be hard, but man when I start thinking about what to do on some of the prompts I’m like “What in the world was I thinking?”! That’s the thing, I don’t ‘think’ about them too much.
I do enjoy these challenges Lysha. I don’t find the hard; they are certainly challenging, and so enjoyable when it all comes together.
I love your wooden card from your grandmother and those crayons are fabulous. (may I ask what you do with them?). Have a great week.

Crayons are mainly leftover from my teaching days/my kids needing them for school. I used to love to color. I don’t do it much now because I find it tedious. My young nieces and nephews always love coloring when they come over, but I have a special bin of crayons for them to use.
Such great pictures for the prompts! Love your wooden wagon! And love how you lined up all the crayons!
Thanks so much!
Lysha! I LOVE that Coca-Cola crate! What a sweet thing to have from your grandma!!!
Yes, things got ugly when Granny started getting rid of stuff when she moved into assisted living. Family was going into her house and just taking whatever they wanted. She ended up having a company come in and take over to sell everything. Family wasn’t allowed there and I couldn’t have gone anyway bc I’m live 11 hours away. I was so happy that Granny had asked my aunt to pull this aside for me. However, I didn’t get it until after had Granny had passed away. Such a lovely surprise!
That wooden Coca Cola wagon is the cutest! Love the photo fo the crayons too!
Thank you!
