PICS & GOINGS ON
These got sent out this week! It is getting real and coming fast.
I planted some Marigold seeds kind of late, but love that some of them are starting to bloom. Not sure what kind of bugs are camped out on them.
So for those of you who’ve never gardened before or maybe have never heard that you can find bugs in the dark with a black light much easier, well it’s true. I only found this one very large worm; not sure what kind it is, and one tiny slug on another pepper plant. With as much damage as some of my pepper plants are enduring I’d really hoped to get rid of more, but it’s a start.
With COVID and everything, Alex and his boyscout troop has had a long break from meeting and camping. No summer camp. However, with lots of planning and precautions they had a 4 night local campout last week. Alex is the SPL (Senior Patrol Leader – in charge of the Troop). Here he is presenting in front of the parents during our Annual Planning Retreat which was held on Saturday right near where the boys were camping.
THOUGHTS
Y’all, if I’m being real right now, I’m telling you that I am stressed! I am tired and things are just starting to ramp up for a bit. I am trying to take it one day at a time, but my brain just has a hard time with that concept. I’m always looking ahead and planning which is usually good, but can also be completely overwhelming. At this point, it’s a mad dash till Drew’s graduation (and possible company), him moving out, and Alex starting school – in school not virtually. And work is super busy for me at this time of year.
Last week I had a terrible week with poison ivy. I broke down and went to the dr for it. It was keeping my up all night. It has spread from one end to the other. I have never had Poison Ivy and it’s bad. I finally starting feeling a difference this weekend. Thank goodness! The steroid pills and cream have finally worked wonders and I am so thankful.
I hope you are doing well. Hope you’re having a great week so far!

I’m so sorry to hear about the poison ivy. I’ve only had it once, and it was horrible even though it stayed isolated. I hope you find some peace and calm during this stressful time.
Thank you. Yeah it was really really bad and am happy it is almost completely gone! Yes, I keep reminding myself this too shall pass and thinking lots of peaceful and calming thoughts…
I had never heard of looking for bugs using a black light! Sorry to hear you had such bad poison ivy; we have several family members that have to start taking prednisone the minute they find the smallest spot of it anywhere. Glad you are finally getting some relief from it.
My hubby, Rob is the same way. He has to get a shot anytime any he gets it. I hope to NEVER have it again.
