With the controversy that’s been going around as of late with the Confederate Flag, we saw many folks riding through the area showing their support of it.
Wilder Brigade AKA Chimauga Tower (more info) provided beautiful views of the surrounding areas.
After leaving the main battle field area, we stopped at Lee & Gordons Mill (info). Unfortunately it was closed because of the holiday.
Gordon-Lee Mansion, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. It sits on 13 acres along with a slave house, and a smokehouse. The house was built by slaves and the bricks of the mansion were made on site. (wikipedia)
We stopped at this cute little museum; the Walker County Regional Heritage Museum.
Chattooga Academy/Gordon Hall
was actually not far from the house we were staying in.
