Hello! Another week down. Here’s the highlights from week 33 (August 12-20, 2023)! I had someone recently ask about our church search and I’ve been meaning to update yall. So we visited several churches. I think there was only one Methodist church we never went to mainly because we wanted a church that had multiple services (that offers both traditional and contemporary) options as well as Sunday school. We think we have found our new church home. It’s in Opelika, which is the neighboring town; about 15 minutes from our house. Trinity disaffiliated and our now Global Methodist. We have gone to Trinity Church a good part of the summer and are now visiting Sunday School classes and they have a bunch to choose from, which is awesome!
One morning I noticed the cutest little mushroom pop up in the yard.
I don’t drink coffee, but if I did, I’d be excited that we have two coffee machines right near my office in the library now. They are also planning to have a commercial espresso machine for sale near me.
This never gets old. I snapped this on my way walking to downtown from work.
On Friday, I met up with my friend Amy for lunch. We went to the new brunch place downtown called Staks. Everyone has been raving about it. I wasn’t thrilled with it. Not many low carb options. I got the pork skillet and it was mainly hashbrowns. Pretty pricey.
Nice atmosphere though.
Friday evening we went out the farm to celebrate Rob’s step dad’s birthday. My sis-in-law and fam made shrimp and grits.
Baked apples and ice cream for dessert.
Sunday for our weekly family lunch after church I made pizzas with cauliflower crust. Everyone was shocked at how good they were.

I’m so glad y’all have found a new church home! Costa coffee was a very popular coffee shop in the UK, so it’s funny to see it popping up over here in the US now.
Oh I bet that view on the way to work never gets old! I don’t drink coffee either but I do love the smell of it. I occasionally think I’d like it and will order one; take a sip and remember why I really do not like it at all!
