August snuck up on me as new months usually do, while I was rinsing off Texas dust. Mushrooms took over the yard, LA dropped by with her usual sparkle, and the 21-year-old landed back home between leases; bringing laundry, late-night fridge raids, and that familiar mix of chaos and comfort. The house feels full again, but not settled and I’m ok with it.

Her newest obsession is sticking out her tongue and I think its the cutest thing.

I made a new soup (Keto Italian Soup). After eating it the first time, I used my immersion blender attachment to grind it down, which made it a lot smoother. Much better!

Outside cleaning up and this guy was a bag of soil that I didn’t noticed till he slid off onto the ground. I thought he might be dead, but he later moved proving me wrong.
August 8
Friday after dinner we went over to campus for the annual 1st AUMB concert of the year, where they play stand tunes, cheers, and the fight song. Gets everyone excited for football. The sunset was distracting though…
August 9
The next day I was up early so my granddaughter and my son and daughter-in-law could come over to take her 6 months photos. Can’t believe she’s half way to a hear.
From tongue-out giggles to band fanfare and six-month photo shoots, August reminded me how much beauty lives in the mundane.
That sunset is beautiful as is your granddaughter. Wow; that 6 months just flew by.
