Week 2: Jan. 5-11, 2026 Week 2 turned into one of those weeks with plenty happening both inside and outside the house. Rob missed nearly a full week of work with this terrible sinus stuff going around, and the rest of the days were a mix of busy moments at Neville, odd little things around home, and a sweet visit from my tiniest regular.

Hey y’all! I’m catching up on my end‑of‑year posts and travel posts from last year, but I’m also hoping to stay on top of my 2026 weekly updates. I switched to biweekly posts last year, and honestly, that made it too easy to forget and fall behind. So this year I’m going back to weekly recaps. I’m also going back to the conciseness of the collage.

Happy For time off form work Excited I found this activity cube at Goodwill. I was so excited because it was only $15, which I knew had to be a great deal. When I googled it, I found that it retails for $100+! Reminiscing With LA’s first Christmas, it was only natural to think back to the boys’ first Christmas. 1998 / 2025 / 2004 Fun to see…

The last 2 weeks of December shifted quickly, bringing family plans, last‑minute changes, and a stretch of days that asked for flexibility, steadiness, and a sense of humor as we moved through it all.
-
Here we are for week’s 49 and 50! Even with the pace picking up, these days hold so many bright spots, and I’m grateful for every one of them. Check out what we’ve been up to.

This month carried a mix of everyday routines and a few bright spots worth remembering. Nothing dramatic, just the kind of steady life updates that make these posts fun to look back on.
-
From November 3–16, the days were filled with projects, gatherings, and small but meaningful moments. Here’s a quick glimpse as I continue to play catch up.

Life has been moving fast lately, and blogging honestly slipped my mind. Still, I don’t want to fall too far behind on sharing updates. My last biweekly post covered Weeks 39–40, and I’m skipping Weeks 41 & 42 since those were spent on our cruise. So today, I’m picking back up with Weeks 43 & 44, spanning October 20 through November 2.

End of August into early September brought a rhythm of celebration, quiet joys, and everyday beauty. These snapshots mark the moments that made me pause and smile.

A quick peek into our recent weeks—family, faith, fresh paint, and LA’s giggles lighting up the house. Here’s what we’ve been up to.

Mid-August arrived with its own kind of rhythm. Quiet observations, unexpected visitors, and a few moments that felt almost cinematic. From a mushroom in disguise to a bird that wouldn’t budge, the days unfolded with a mix of wonder, chaos, and tenderness. August 11 A completely different kind of mushroom—one I would’ve missed entirely, since at first glance it looked just like a fall-colored leaf. It was Alex who spotted it and pointed it out to me. August 12 That day, when I got to1 my car in the parking deck at work and spotted this little guy just staring…

August snuck up on me as new months usually do, while I was rinsing off Texas dust. Mushrooms took over the yard, LA dropped by with her usual sparkle, and the 21-year-old landed back home between leases; bringing laundry, late-night fridge raids, and that familiar mix of chaos and comfort. The house feels full again, but not settled and I’m ok with it. July 28 Came home from our family visit to Texas>>>Quick Trip to Texas July 29 We’ve had so many mushrooms pop up. These were on our side yard. My favorite time is any time LA gets to…

July 2025 has been a blend of sunshine, milestones, and those quiet moments that sneak up on you. Rob’s 50th was a highlight, the backyard dream is edging closer to reality, and July brought its share of good meals and social snapshots. Work’s humming along and I’ve been neck-deep in blog tweaks. As August begins, the school-year memories resurface—fuzzy backpacks, early bus stop waves—and the house, though quieter, still holds echoes of those days. Let’s catch up.
-
The last two weeks in July were pure summer scramble—baseball dreams, taco diplomacy, and smash burgers gone rogue. But tucked between the grease clouds and fangirl squeals were ice cream breaks, health check wins, and the kind of selfie moments that remind me why “LyLy” matters. Buckle up.

From fro-yo runs to a 50th birthday bash, here’s what life looked like lately around our corner of Auburn. July 5 LA turned 5 months…I mean how is it going by so fast?!?! My in laws throw a 4th of July party every other year. This year the party was actually on the 5th. You can read about it here>>>Celebrating Independence Day 2025 July 6 We went to visit our friend Marc at his church about 30 minutes away. We got to hear his sermon and then went to the parsonage to visit with him and his family. July 10…

Snapshots from the Past Two Weeks From granddaughter giggles to wedding vows, birthday candles to eye charts — these past couple of weeks have been full of sweet moments. I’ve gathered a few favorite photos, each with a little story to go with it. Thanks for joining me on this small stroll through recent memories. June 18 Time for another eye check. Gave bifocal contacts another shot, but the difference just wasn’t worth it—so it’s back to my usual lenses, plus readers when needed. Getting old is a bummer. June 22 Sunday sweetness. My girl came to Sunday lunch with…
