In August, we got to experience something that not many never people get to see; a Total Solar Eclipse. We decided to make a weekend of it and head to North Georgia to a location where we were in the line of totality. We shared a VRBO cabin with Rob’s sister and her family. Saturday we drove up to North Georgia. After dropping our stuff off at the cabin, we drove around to scout out some places to watch the eclipse, ate dinner, and visited Rob’s old stomping grounds at Young Harris College. If you missed Day 1 or Day 2. Sunday we started by hiking up to the highest point in Georgia at Brasstown Bald. We enjoyed a picnic lunch and then decided to go find the Swinging Bridge which crosses over the Toccoa River. This was a very cool, very hidden spot. Great place to camp, swim, tube, kayak, etc! For dinner we ate at Papa’s Pizza-to-Go Buffet, which had hot, high quality pizza. Then, we did something we have never done before and that’s go to a drive-in movie.
