Every February our church rents out Shocco Springs for 2 retreats that happen simultaneously. For the last 6 or so years, Drew has been in youth so he’s gone to the youth part of the retreat which is called Winter Retreat. The rest of us usually go to the Family Retreat that happens just up the hill. This year since Alex is now part of youth, he attended Winter Retreat. One Sunday, nearly a month ago, our church hosted the senior recognition breakfast and service. It was an exciting morning. We enjoyed fellowship with friends and family. Rob’s Mom, step Dad, and adopted sister, Rachael came to it. Breakfast included egg and bacon casserole, grits, fruit salad, and cinnamon covered biscuits. Marc, the youth director, bragged on the class of 2016 and spoke some eloquent words about going off into the world and keeping God the center of their lives, and then they showed a slide of all the seniors. I’m thankful for a wonderful church. My church is truly amazing. I’m amazed at: -the huge church family. -the great missions programs. -the active youth program and all that it offers from Sunday youth night to sweat week and so much more. -the wide variety of Sunday school classes. -our pastors that are so knowledgeable. -our food pantry that provides food to so many on a weekly basis. -the quality scout program and the scout center that they allow us to use. -the staff.
