Another little glimpse into my February with my sentence a day post. The small gratitudes, the ordinary moments, and the things that got me through each day. Nothing fancy, just life as it happened, sentence by sentence.

Sunday/2.1.2026

– Finding a good catfish restaurant
– Church and Sunday School. Afterwards, we tried a new lunch spot because I was craving catfish. A quick “catfish near me” search led us to Sam’s Southern Eatery, and it was really good. Drew, Caitlyn, and LA came over this evening for about an hour to just get out of the house. Rob was feeling kind of yucky.

Monday/2.2.2026
– A little bit warmer day
– Morning started off with a conversation with Rob as we was getting ready to fly to Phoenix with his boss for an AI workshop. Beautiful moon over Jordan Hare. Picked up a couple birthday finds for LA at Goodwill during lunch. Pushed through my walk instead of napping, knocked out vacuuming and laundry, and ended the night with YouTube and a bit more of The Pitt on HBOMax.

Tuesday/2.3.2026
– Surprise favors for Drew & Caitlyn
– Picked up LA girl bc her parents needed to run an errand after work. She and I had a good time. She “helped” me make pizza and we were eating when her parents got there. Started watching “His & Hers” on Netflix.

Wednesday/2.4.2026
– The quiet
– Rob still in Phoenix. Ran some errands after work. Found this little guy when I was out on the deck this afternoon.

– Seeing LA girl turn ONE!
– Picked up birthday girl LA. Dinner at Drew and Caitlyn’s with birthday girl and Randy and Pam. Drew invited Rob to come eat after he got back into town from Phoenix.

Friday/2.6.2026
– I survived
– After work, I prepped dip for LA’s party, while watching a terrible California fire movie. Then Rob and I headed to the gymnastics meet but ended up leaving early.

Saturday/2.7.2026
– Being able to watch my granddaughter grow up
– It was birthday party day for LA, a Princess party. So cute! Right after the party, Drew and Rob headed to the basketball game to unfortunately watch Auburn lose to Alabama.

Sunday/2.8.2026
– A good lunch with the in-laws
– I had lunch with Randy and Pam after Church/SS. Rob had a church meeting. This afternoon, Rob and I drained the hot tub and cleaned it out. Doing all the things I need help with before Rob’s surgery on Tuesday.

Monday/2.9.2026
– Being prepared
– I wrapped up everything at work so I could be out the rest of the week, then spent the evening doing the last little things before Rob’s surgery.

Tuesday/2.10.2026
– A pretty easy day, all things considered
– Surgery day started early with a calm check‑in, prayer, and a quick procedure, followed by updates from Dr. Dooley, supportive messages from friends, a smooth recovery thanks to the nerve block, and an organized start to Rob’s OTC medication and icing schedule.

– Rob not being in pain
– Rob was dealing with some discomfort from surgery because nerve block wore off completely, but we just hung out and rested while taking in a ton of the Olympics.

Thursday/2.12.2026
– Friends who brought us dinner
– It was a beautiful day so we spent part of the afternoon outside. We invited Randy and Pam over because they were anxious to see Rob since his surgery. I picked LA girl from daycare because Caitlyn has a the flu. Drew came and got her. Our friend Julia dropped dinner off for us.

Friday/2.13.2026
– A chill day
– Another day at home with Rob. I woke up early and couldn’t go back to sleep. Rob didn’t sleep well last night. We watched a lot of Olympics again today. Randy went to baseball game with Drew while Pam hung out with Rob and me.

– A good day
– I spent the morning watching LA while her parents were doing some stuff for their business. Later I went to the game with Rob and enjoyed seeing LA hang in for ten innings as Auburn beat Youngstown.

Sunday/2.15.2026
– Seeing a good movie for free!
– We watched the Olympics and then went out for little date night. We enjoyed Silo Mio and dinner at Lost Pizza.

Monday/2.16.2026
– Former student workers who take time to come by and say hi.
– Back to work after 4 days off has been a struggle. No energy. Surprise visit from former student worker brightened my day.

– A good visit to the dentist
– A nerve‑filled dentist visit turned into unexpected relief after a good checkup.

Wednesday/2.18.2026
– Time with Drew
– I was so exhausted. Raked part of the yard. Picked up LA for sick Caitlyn. Ended the night with Drew staying for dinner. Then, he and I enjoyed conversations in the hot tub while Rob watched LA.

– Doing nice things for others
– Lunch with Rob at Waldo’s Chicken, where I got a salad with the roasted chicken instead of their chicken fingers. Made Caitlyn a get well basket with home made gluten free soup and cornbread waffles and couple other little treats.

Friday/2.20.2026
– Another step closer to Rob’s arm recovery
– I went with Rob to his after surgery check up. He got his splint off and a new brace on. We thought our new oven would be installed today but they made a mistake and our oven hasn’t actually arrived. Rob and I went to AU gymnastics after work.

Saturday/2.21.2026
– A good day with family
– Drew and LA dropped by early and stayed till after lunch. Caitlyn joined us later. Drew and David took the basketball tickets to watch Auburn beat Kentucky.

Sunday/2.22.2026
– A good weekend
– We went to early church and Sunday school, ate leftovers. I made Cajun chicken noodle soup to bring over to Rob’s dad’s house that we shared and had fellowship.

Monday/2.23.2026
– Quiet evenings at home
– I made another batch of sausage balls and froze them. Chilled at home while Rob worked late. We ended the day with some of the Olympics closing ceremony.

– That I’m able to keep going.
– A sweet bit of good news floated through the day while my sciatic nerve decided to flare up out of nowhere.

Wednesday/2.25.2026
– AU baseball pulling out a win in the end
– Lunch with Rob, Randy, and Pam at Waldo’s. Rob and them up to Emmaus after that to drop stuff off and set up. When Rob got home we went to AU vs West GA which ended up being way to exciting of a game!

– LA’s big smile
– My heart is so happy when I go get LA and she immediately smiles as soon as she spots me. She loves snack time. I struggle to know how much to feed her, because the girl loves to eat.

– A chill boss
– I worked through lunch, squeezed in a nap, got a surprise bit of LA joy when Drew asked me to pick her up and bring her to his house, and ended the day up at the lake.

Saturday/2.28.2026
– A day at home
– Rob and I spent the morning working a work organization website. He headed to the baseball game while I stayed home to rest and catch up on chores. Auburn capped the afternoon with a 15–4 win over Nebraska.

And just like that, that’s my February, a stretch of days full of family, healing, tiny joys, and the daily motions that let life continue, even when the days feel thick. No big revelations, just the quiet reminder that showing up, loving your people, and noticing the good really does add up.
