We left Friday after Rob got off work. Our first destination was Moore, Oklahoma, where Rob’s sister lives. We knew we couldn’t make it the entire 13 hours, so he made plans to stop in Maumelle, AR. We arrived around 1 am and quickly got to bed as we knew we needed to hit the road early the next morning. I didn’t take any pics on Day 1.
Saturday (Day 2) we popped out of bed, grabbed a snack from the continental breakfast, and were on our way! We started to get hungry about an hour and half away from Moore. We stopped in Henryetta, Oklahoma at a Braum’s, of course!
After leaving there, we stopped a drugstore nearby to get Rob some meds as he was fighting a bit of a cold.
Henryetta was a cute little town.
After arriving at Rob’s sister’s house, we brought our stuff in and hung out. Rob and I were being shown around the house by our niece, Toady (6). She showed us to her and her sister’s room, where we would be sleeping. Ducky (4) was explaining to me that her room was decorated with Princess stuff. I asked, “Are you a princess?” Her response, “I’m God’s Princess.” Priceless!
I ended up playing a princess game with Ducky. She proudly wore her tierra.
An hour or 2 later and we were raring to go do some site-seeing. We hopped in the cars and headed to Norman, OK home of the University of Oklahoma.
We walked around a small portion of the campus before going to eat dinner downtown at Garage Burgers. Yummy!
That evening we came back to their house, put the kids to bed, and stayed up a while just chatting.
