Monthly Digest – 2.2026

2.206_Collage - Memories of the Month - Here's a great idea for wrapping up the month with a set of questions to remember how your last month with. I love going back and reading through what happened throughout the years.

This month’s digest is brought to you by answered prayers, spring weather teasing us like it always does, and my sudden urge to flee all social media to see if it really is life changing. February was dramatic, but in the end, we got good news, good recovery, and a whole lot of perspective. Let’s dive into the chaos, the sweetness, and the things that kept me going.

Happy that we survived February! Rob got through his surgery and recovery without any sickness. Praise the LORD! I also got through my very dreaded appointment all the dread that my brain built up in my mind about that medical appointment was totally unnecessary because they found nothing wrong! Another Praise the LORD for that, for sure!!

Excited for the Spring weather!

Dreading I’m not sure if this is the thing I’ve been dreading, but it might be the source of that March “dread” feeling. A few days ago I decided I needed a full break from all social media for me that’s Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and X. Instagram is the one I can lose hours to without even noticing. Facebook has become something I actively dislike because I see more random content than anything I actually follow, so I barely use it anymore. Threads only pulls me in because Instagram keeps showing me Threads posts, and then suddenly I’m scrolling over there way too long. And X is something I only check when I’m trying to see reactions to news or whatever is happening in the moment.

So on February 28th, I deleted every app and used ScreenZen to put hard blocks on all of them, plus their URLs so I’m not tempted to sneak in through my phone’s browser.
I might write a post about how this goes…

Reminiscing It’s about that time, when we used to head down to Florida for our annual Spring Training trip.

Social I think the only social things we did was going to baseball games and seeing our seat neighbors and chatting with them.

Work Memories Nothing too exciting

Current Project I’ve had the little Instax printer for years, and when I first bought it I picked up a few of those small photo albums too. I ended up deciding to make one album for each year. I still had a lot of unused film, so I’ve been finishing out those older albums by printing more photos from each year—2017 through 2021 are now done. Now I’m trying to decide whether to keep going and make albums for 2022 up to the present. Instax prints run about a dollar each, and the albums average around eight dollars, so it’s not a cheap project.

Drew and Caitlyn are so busy with full time jobs, being parents, and being business owners. Very proud of them and how well they seem to juggle all that!

Alex Think I only saw Alex once…this month. He’s busy.

Rob had his distal bicep tendon surgery and it was a much better post op experience. Survived on OTC meds and didn’t get sick straight out of surgery like last time. He’s in his new brace now. This tendon PT is more extensive than the elbow, but thankfully not like the shoulder surgery I had!

Most remembered LA’s 1st birthday (party) and Rob’s surgery success.

This Weekend Today…I got a text from Caitlyn asking if we could keep LA part of this weekend as her and Drew might go on a little trip. That would be great! They need time away and any time I get with that bundle of joy, we love. Being a grandparent is the best!

Looking Forward to Next Month March…Not sure I have anything big to look forward to. Prettier weather if I had to say one thing I’m looking forward to.

FOOD

Eating Can’t remember if I’ve mentioned we’ve been without an oven since we got back from our cruise in early January. We ordered one and thought it would be here any day now, but I called and found out that its now not set to come into till April 9…Ugh! To say I’ve become quite good and cooking everything on the stove top, toaster oven, air fryer, and instant pot is an understatement!

With the weather getting prettier, we’ll probably be using the grill and Blackstone more too!

February gave us plenty to talk about, plenty to pray over, and plenty to laugh about later. March, be gentle. I’m ready for whatever you’ve got…preferably flowers and warm air.

Look back at last month.
