Columbia, SC
Wednesday 7/25-
Left at 5:00 and headed to Columbia, SC.
Stayed at the Sleep Inn
Thursday 7/26 –
Drove through Irmo, where we saw where Rob lived with his Dad and he was even able to find the house.
Stopped at Carolina Cider Co. and got Peach Butter and 2 different types of cider. Yum!
Drove through University of South Carolina.
Drove to Charleston, SC and went straight to the Cannonboro Inn, Room #2
Lunch at Hominy Grill – authentic Carolina cuisine
–Shecrab soup
–Shrimp and Grits
–other cajun-like dish, which I can’t remember what it’s called
Charleston Bus Tour and learned lots about the city
Dinner at TBonz
Drove to Patriots Point, Fort Moultrie, Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms
Friday 7/27 – Breakfast at the B&B, which was Banana-rum French toast with apple smoked bacon
Drove to Angel Oak Tree on John’s Island
Stopped at Kiawah Island, SC
Stopped in Yemasee, SC at the Carolina Cider Company and tried some yummy cider and peach butter, which we couldn’t leave without!
Ate lunch at Jasper’s Porch in Ridgeland, SC (map) It was a good home-cooked buffet and the restaurant overlooked a lake with turtles.
Savannah, GA
Headed to Savannah, where we checked in to the Park Avenue B&B
Savannah Carriage Tours
Had dinner at Six Pence Pub (map)
Saturday 7/28 –
Tybee Island
Lighthouse
Lunch at Stingray’s
Shopping
B&D Burgers
Show at the Savannah Theater called Return to the 50’s.
Sunday 7/29 – Dolphin Magic Tours – didn’t get to go because their boat wouldn’t start…nice!
Ice Cream at a Candy store
Stopped in Flat Rock, Ga at a peach stand for some fresh, juicy peaches.
