Thanksgiving was a pretty chill day until later. It was just Rob and me at home doing stuff around the house, watching the parade and the dog show. I even got a nap in before my in-laws showed up around 2 or 3pm. I threw together a very quick charcuterie board.

Around that same time, Rob got the oil going to fry the turkey. We fry our turkeys in the Masterbuilt Electric Turkey Fryer. You can use it indoors, but we actually set it up outside, so our house doesn’t smell like a fast food restaurant when we’re done. 🙂

Several people chipped in with the food. I made my old Thanksgiving standbys: Cajun Gravy & Andouille Cajun Dressing & Praline Sweet Potatoes

We didn’t get a full family picture before people started leaving.
LA’s first Thanksgiving

Once all the other family left, Drew/Caitlyn and Alex/Madison got in the hot tub. It was Madison’ first time getting to see the new back deck and hot tub. They stayed in there for several hours (mostly sitting up out of it) talking and making my heart so happy to see my boys and their other halves enjoying each others company, sharing stories and laughter.

Friday we had Drew and LA and their dog Bigsby show up while Caitlyn was out doing come Black Friday shopping.

Saturday was Iron Bowl Day. They did the flyover early because it was going to be dark before the game started, so they did it during the Tiger Walk. I was still at home at that point, so I was able to go outside and see them fly by. Very cool!

The game itself was pretty much what I figured would happen, so won’t talk about that.

The AUMB (marching band) was the true winner of it all with an amazing show.

You can watch it here>>>
On Sunday, LA got to meet Santa. I’m pretty sure this is the same Santa her Daddy and uncle saw when there were little!

As the weekend wrapped up, I found myself grateful for the memories made. Some new, some beautifully familiar and the joy of seeing loved ones connect in ways that linger long after the dishes are done.
