Loving
LA’s tongue out giggles, new mushroom sightings, and the way family fills the house with chaos and comfort.

Happy
Having everyone under one roof, even briefly, as well as watching LA with her great-grandparents. Pure joy.

Excited
For cooler weather, fall decor, and the shift into the ‘ber months. Also, the gumbo celebration felt like a warm-up for all the cozy gatherings ahead.

Reminiscing Thinking about the last 2+ years at Trinity Church as our preacher gets ready to leave us…So many sermons that moved me, prayers that steadied us, and the quiet strength of spiritual leadership that shaped our Sundays, many thanks to Sean. I know Rob is going to miss that close friendship and their monthly lunches! Gulf Shores Methodist is getting a good one!

Work Memories A frustrating start to the semester, 2 quit, 1 fired, tons of schedule changes. Definitely tested my patience.

Lesson Learned Not really a lesson, but noticing again that Boomers on our on their phones just as much as the younger crowd. Phones are the great generational equalizer.

Current Project
Rob and I tackled a full refresh upstairs. We painted all the doors and trim, swapped out the old hinges and doorknobs for new ones. It’s amazing what a few updates can do to lift the space. We’re also wrapping up the back deck clearing prepping for the demolition here in a few weeks.

Drew is now the roux whisperer and just loving being a Dad. He and Caitlyn have also been super busy starting their cleaning business (side gig). Love their vision and their goals and how hard they work!

Alex moved in, then moved out. I really enjoyed having him around. I saver every time he lives with us even if its just a couple weeks. He and Madison celebrated 3 years of dating!

Rob and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary. Rob is my rock in the background, helping hold the rhythm of family life through transitions and visits.

Most remembered LA’s six-month photo shoot and the moment she met her great-grandparents—generational magic in real time.

This Weekend Football kicks off, farewells unfold—Auburn’s first home game and our preacher’s last sermon make for a weekend full of heart.

Looking Forward to Next Month Birthdays, getting our deck taken down and prep work for our hottub. Plus, watching LA grow and savoring the shift into cooler days.

  1. Seeing LA grow and change makes each season extra special for you. That’s so cool about the cleaning business. I agree about the boomer phone usage. I have some older relatives who are really bad about it, worse than my kids! I have taken social media off my phone for awhile because it is just so addictive.

  2. It sounds like you are hard at work on the house! Other than the work frustrations it sounds like you had a great month.
