The Lift Box: Hit or Miss?

I tried The Lift Box after spotting it on Instagram, hoping to discover healthier snacks for my on-the-go days. My box didn’t include a shirt—just consumables—and it arrived looking like it had gone twelve rounds with the postal system. The Lift Box follows a no-choices model: you don’t pick what goes inside, so every month’s a surprise. That’s great if you like sampling new snacks and supplements without overthinking, but it can be hit or miss depending on your taste. The bright side? You can cancel anytime, so there’s no pressure to stick with it if the lineup doesn’t hit the mark.

Inside, I found a lineup of soft-baked bars, focus supplements, protein bars, and others — some genuinely intriguing, others stretching the definition of “healthy” with artificial aftertastes and questionable ingredients. A few items stood out, for better or worse: the good, the not-so – good, and the downright terrible all made their mark. It wasn’t so much about finding new favorites as it was about sampling the full spectrum of fitness-focused snacks—flavor highs, nutritional lows, and everything in between.

The Good
My favorite item in the box was hands-down the Munk Pack Cocoa Crisp protein breakfast bar — chewy, chocolatey, and surprisingly satisfying. With 10g of plant-based protein, 6g of fiber, and just 1g of sugar, it struck a rare balance between flavor and function. It’s also gluten-free, vegan, and packed with 20g of whole grains plus probiotics for gut health. This item is one, I’m definitely looking for in the stores!

The Not-So-Good
I really wanted to love the Zee Zees Strawberry Crisp Soft Baked Bar — the soft texture and nostalgic snack vibe had me hopeful. But with just 2g of protein, 9g of sugar (8g added), and a flavor that leaned heavily artificial from the first bite to the lingering aftertaste, it just didn’t earn a spot in my healthy snack rotation.

Downright Terrible
While the Fruity Frenzee bar leans toward the healthier side on paper, the flavor and texture were a total letdown—chalky, bland, and really hard to finish.

Cost of my 1st box was $14.90 because of a 1st time deal.

Due to the timing of my subscription renewal, my first box hadn’t even arrived before the second was already processed. Stay tuned — I’m curious to see if the second box redeems itself or doubles down on the ‘healthy’.

The Lift Box delivered plenty of surprises—some worth chewing on, others not so much. It’s a fun experiment if you’re curious and open to the unexpected, but for now, I’m not quite sold. Let’s see what box two brings.
