Yesterday was great! I got flowers delivered to work and the card said to go home and relax and not to worry about the kids! Of course I had some groceries to get AND an anniversary gift! So after I did that I came home and relaxed for a short amount of time. Then Rob got home and we got dressed up and went to a GREAT and very NICE restuarant in Auburn called J Williams! I was so excited and it was wonderful! THANK YOU ROB!

Happy Anniversary to Rob and Me!

7 Years…

WOW!!

Our lives are just flying by so quickly! I think of everything that has happened in the last 7 years and it is unbelievable to me! Then, I think of the future and all the things that will happen! It’s kind of scary! Looking though these pictures from our wedding weekend and then honeymoon a week later, brings back tons of memories! I’m just really happy and I hope that Rob is as happy as I am!

Well, I got a lot done this morning. I did almost everything I wanted to around the house, but I was hoping to get more “work-work” done (finish novel, grade papers, etc!). I got busy playing on the computer. I found some more blinkie sites, ughghgh! I’m so addicted! LOL!

Alex slept a lot today. He doesn’t get really good naps sometimes at daycare. I think he catches up on the weekends. He loves squash and applesauce! That was his new food for the week!

Drew is a complete computer nerd! I had to make him get off of it today to go outside and play! I guess we’re going to have to start limiting his computer time, but it’s kind of hard to do that when we’re (mom & dad) are on our computers a lot too! Not sure what to do about that!

Oh, yah! My “practice” observation on Thursday was good! Feeling the pressure though as alway! I’ll be setting up my 1st real scheduled observation soon. Then I’ll have an announced observation with my principal after that! Then, we’ll repeat that next semester! Ughgh! The first year at a new school is always ROUGH!!

I need to get in bed so I can get up for church! Talk to yall later!

I’m so tired. Rob went to the Braves game tonight with his step-dad. So Drew, Alex, and I went to Micky-D’s for dinner and brought it home. I’ve spent the evening trying to give the boys attention while I try to get ready for a “mini” observation that I have on Thursday with the Elementary Coordinator for my district.

Well, I’m gonna go watch the Amazing Race and then get some sleep!

These pictures are from tonight. Alex was sitting up with a little support from the Boppy Pillow playing with his little music thing, which we changed to the sitting position. It used to be where he laid under it and watched it. He likes it the new way. This kept him happy for quite awhile. So sweet!

Be blessed, Michelle

We went to Surfside Water Park today, trying to use them so more before it closes for the season. It was fun!

Ok, I just spent like 3 hours working on a new look for this page editing a skin to create my own unique look! Not sure if it was worth it. Most of the time I was just trying to figure out style sheets worked! All that time and I should have been doing other things, like….

finish:
–grading paper
–planning for my reading groups
–printing stuff for work
–etc!

I did get a lot done today though!

–washed, folded, and hung Rob’s and my clothes
–made 3 sets of Reading A-Z books
–filed bills from the last 9 months or so that have piled up!
–cleaned kitchen

And in the mean time cooked breakfast, took care of Alex, and Drew, watched some olympics, etc! We did go out for a late lunch/early dinner at Applebee’s. We had a gift certificate from the Sunshine club from when Alex was born that we haven’t had time to use! It was nice.

I really need to go to bed now though. My neck has been really bothering me lately (my pinched nerve), I think due to stress! And it’s been giving me bad headaches everyday at the end of the workday I’m like, “I need medicine!”

I stayed up late last night so I think I’m gonna to bed soon (yah, right!) We’ll see!

Sorry the day didn’t go well.  I have been quite a whiner today for no real good reason.

Everything is going good here. Drew is doing pretty good in 1st grade so far. Alex is doing great in day care and is getting so big! In fact I need to take some new pictures of him and get them posted up on his site! Just so hard keeping up with everything! When I went out with my coworker yesterday afternoon, Rob took Drew to get a hair cut, which was needed badly! I’ll get some pictures of him too, especially since he is such a ham!

School story…

The other day my class and I were having a discussion about our vocabulary words. One of our words was OBSESSED. I asked them to give a sentence or definition with the word. Someone said they were obsessed with Orlando Bloom. Someone else said Michael Jackson. Then one of the boys said ME!! HAAAAAHH HAHAHAHA!! ToO fUnNy! I just replied by saying, “Well, I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing!?!??!!”

I went out with some coworkers today to Laredo! It was nice! Had a good time. I just love being able to do that. I’m really happy with my new job! I was asked to do a special project, which I’m not thrilled about. Only because I’m not one to speak in front of large groups, which I’ll have to give a presentation to the staff. Not sure why I was the chosen one for that, but I’m not worried!

Well, yesterday was a full day…Braves game and visiting with friends in Peachtree City. Braves Won!!

Today…sunday school, housework, wash, and preparing for this week at work. And I’m exhausted! It sounds so simple when summed up like that, but I’ve got to start spreading out housework though out the week so I don’t have as much to do on one day! I’m going to make a schedule up to see if that will work! Anyway, I’m gonna run for now…not too much excitment here, so I’ll talk later!

Watching the Olympics opening ceremony…yes, so awesome and exciting!

I made it through my first full week of teaching 5th grade and it went really well. I love my class. I love my coworkers. My boss is great. I love being able to get up with my family. I love not having a 40 minute drive! I LOVE my new job, can you tell? I need to post some pictures of the commons area, which looks awesome. Our school theme is “Wild about Learning” so all the halls are decorated like a jungle. The 5th grade hall looks the best, of course!

Drew came home from 1st grade yesterday and said it was so boring! “All we did was color and go over the rules over and over! My teacher is so serious!”

Today he came home with a more positive attitude. Although, he said he wanted to go back to his “other” school (meaning Kindergarten). Remember, his kindergarten was in a school by itself, where all Kindergartners go in the district.

Tomorrow we’re going to the Braves Game. Alex is going to visit some friends of ours in Atlanta, so we don’t have to bother with a stroller and all that way up in the top of the stadium.

Thursday August 12, 2004
Ok, so I know I’m not getting into a routine of posting like I said I would now that I’m back at work. Things are still crazy…
Alex started day care this week.
Drew started 1st grade today.
And to top it off Alex has been congested and throwing up (but not at daycare…we think it’s the Infant Tylenol cold medicine, which we stopped giving him.) We’re trying to let him work through it without meds, but if need be I’ll get dimatap which he did fine with awhile back, but I can’t find it! So I’ll buy more.
I’m still working like I’ve NEVER worked before. Still love my class, but still challenging. Anyway…I’m going to get into a routine sometime soon, I hope. Gotta run get Alex and Drew!

Wow, well made it through the first week. Here’s some highlights:

AM duty – cafeteria:
3rd grade boy: That boy called me skinny!!
me: Some people might take that as a compliment!
boy: what dat mean?
me: when someone says something good about someone else
boy: oh, (laughing)
others at the table smiling and laughing

I’ve worked my tail off this week! But I love my class. I’ve got some precious kids! Only a couple with attitudes, which I think I’ll be able to take care of.

Yesterday, the lady in charge of after school introduced herself and said she was a grandmother of one of my students. She said her granddaughter was just thrilled to be in my class and comes home so excited and happy and ready to go back to school! Made me feel so good!

Well, today was the first day of school. Although it was a half day and believe me, I was exhausted at 10:30 when we let out!! My class seems really awesome. 25 students, which I’m not used to since having 2nd grade, but I’ll adjust. I LOVE my new school. Everyone is so positive and encouraging! I know it’s the beginning of school, but I believe this is how they always are! I’ll let you know how my first full day goes.

Thanks to all the well wishers!
