Last Tuesday after work, we headed towards Texas, planning to spend the night in Shreveport to break up the trip since its a 12 hour drive. We ended up having a delay when Google Maps told us to take a detour near Selma. We went over some railroad tracks and ended up going over a pot hole that gave us a flat tire. There was another car that had pulled over who had also gotten a flat tire. Long story short, God paved the way for us to get our tire switched to the spare and got a new tire even though the tire place was technically closed when we got there. All this only delayed us an hour and we got to our hotel at 2am.
We got to Huntsville, TX the next day after lunch. We were visiting Rob’s Dad and Step Mom. We also got to see his sister from Nevada and his sister from Houston and her family.
+ A Cowboy hat and boot, both houses!
+ Had to get some good Texas BBQ brisket
+ Rob and his sisters and dad and step mom
+ This squirrel was sitting on someone’s golf cart as we walked around the neighborhood they live in.
+ On Saturday, we went to Texas A&M for a tailgate that Rob’s dad was invited to. Here is the mounted core coming through.
+ One of my former student workers recently moved to College Station. She came and hung out with us that day. Always nice to meet up with her!
So sorry about the flat tire! It’s amazing it only took an hour to get it all fixed! Love the pic of that funny squirrel!
So sorry to hear about the flat tire but so glad it only set you back and hour. It sounds like you had a great tip aside from that one hiccup.
