Tonight Drew’s Boy Scout Troop held an Order of the Arrow Call Out Ceremony. Order of the Arrow is the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America.

To become a member of this elite society, a Scout must:
– hold First Class rank
– have experienced at least 15 days and nights of Boy Scout camping consisting of 6 consecutive days and 5 nights of resident camping during the two-year period prior to the election
– be elected by his peers in his troop by secret ballot
Following the elections, elected candidates participate in a calling out ceremony, performed by OA members dressed in ceremonial Indian regalia, which is the ceremony we witnessed tonight!

In a month or two Drew will go through an induction process, called the Ordeal, which is the first step toward full membership in the Order.

Need less to say, I’m very proud of Drew for earning this elite honor.
