Week 25 & 26: 2025

Snapshots from the Past Two Weeks

From granddaughter giggles to wedding vows, birthday candles to eye charts — these past couple of weeks have been full of sweet moments. I’ve gathered a few favorite photos, each with a little story to go with it. Thanks for joining me on this small stroll through recent memories.

Time for another eye check. Gave bifocal contacts another shot, but the difference just wasn’t worth it—so it’s back to my usual lenses, plus readers when needed. Getting old is a bummer.

Sunday sweetness. My girl came to Sunday lunch with her parents. I took her off their hands while they enjoyed a peaceful, hands free meal. She’s acting like she’s in the beginning stages of teething.

Brought out the red, white, and blue again—first time since 2020! Felt good to add a little festive cheer this year.

Another trip around the sun for our family friend. We attended a 30th birthday party.

I was happy that my granddaughter made an appearance at that party with her parents. This family is long time family friends.

A full-circle kind of celebration. Rob and I went to the wedding of a family friend’s daughter — someone we’ve watched grow up over the years. Her brother, the one who just turned 30 (like I mentioned earlier), was there too. She’s close with our older son and daughter-in-law, who was actually a bridesmaid.

Here’s Drew with another of his long time friends he keeps in touch with.

Should’ve snapped a few more photos at the wedding—but hey, the best moments don’t always make it to the camera.

Thanks for coming along. It’s been a sweet mix of quiet and celebration these past couple of weeks, and I’ve loved sharing a few pics with you.

  1. I love weddings so much!

I just cant do bifocals either…. they trip me up & never give me enough “room” to read … like how am I supposed to get things in that little strip of glass? I’m constantly switching between 3 glasses – far, computer & reading. its a juggling act

I just love weddings; it looks like a beautiful event. You’ve had a couple of fun filled weeks.

  3. I tried bifocal contacts once, and they really messed with my head, so the experiment didn’t stick. I’ve got progressives, but my I think the lab messed up my newest prescription, so I haven’t been wearing them either. Getting older is tough!
