*Hopefully the photos for this post load, Flickr has been having issues this morning.

1. What do birthdays look like in your house? How are they celebrated? Any special traditions? What about birthdays growing up?
Birthdays now are usually dinner at a place of our choosing and for the boys we come back and open presents and sometimes have cake.

Here’s some photos of my boys on their birthdays. And to clarify bc I have new people visiting today…I have 2 boys. These are them at different ages.

My birthdays growing up were always fun. In upper elementary and middle school, I usually had friends over for a spend the night party. I think this photo is from 1st or 2nd grade.

2. Someone is sending you a dozen roses…what color are you hoping for? Are you someone who gets accused of seeing the world through rose colored glasses? Is your accuser correct? Elaborate.
I love the traditional red roses, but I also had a mix bouquet one time with white, yellow, pink, and red and it was gorgeous! I think in certain situations I see things through rose colored glasses, but not too often.

3. June 4th is National Cheese Day…will you celebrate? What’s something (besides a burger) you make in the summer months that calls for cheese?
I eat a good amount of cheese since I try to eat low carb most of the time, its one of my go to snacks.

4. ’tis the season…any weddings on your June calendar? What’s the first word that comes to mind when I say marriage?
Yes, we have 2 weddings this summer, one in June and one in July.

“Commitment.” It’s the backbone of marriage—the daily decision to cultivate love, deepen understanding, and foster growth.

5. What are you most looking forward to this June?
In June, I’m excited about the possibility of a trip with Rob (hint in picture below), but if that doesn’t happen, he’ll be off on a guys’ baseball trip with some buddies.

I’m also looking forward to embracing the slower rhythm of summer!

6. Insert your own random thought here.
The talk of roses, and also looking for the picture for the question above reminded me of the Portland International Rose Test Garden in Portland, Oregon.

    Hi,
Your birthday photos make me smile.
And I like the photo of you and Rob. Sweet!!
I love the rose photos. 🙂

  3. I think you win the award for cutest bunch of boys. Thank you for visiting my blog this morning, and hope you will return again soon. You asked about my shoulder. I doubt you want the whole story, so I will spare you that. At soon to be 81, I am reaping the consequences of long-term workout routines to eventually compensate for spinal stenosis in my old age. Well, it didn’t work out as planned, and the joints and back are all failing at the same time. Surgery is out because the shoulder is just too far gone, and who in their right mind wants surgery at 81? So, I’m praying the PRP gives my body what it needs to heal itself and get rid of some of the built-up inflammation.

  4. Aww! What wonderful photos of the boys on their birthdays!
Roses are such a pretty flower no matter what the colour.
Ohh! The trip sounds exciting! I hope it works out!

  5. Great photos of the boys’ parties. Hope you get to take your trip.

  6. Cute birthday photos and I think going out to dinner at their choice is nice way to celebrate. I do like yellow roses but they are all beautiful. I don’t eat too much cheese because of my cholesterol. Commitment is a great word for marriage. It would be nice if you could get away but his trip with the guys sounds like fun too. My husband just got back from 10 days of fishing in Canada. Beautiful photo of the roses.

  7. You have quite the boy crew! I bet it’s been fun. I love those peachy pink roses in your photo…so pretty! Enjoy your day!

I love all the rose pictures, and the one of you and Rob too.

Great birthday pictures of the boys! Sounds like many of us do the birthday dinner thing. I love the photo of you and your hubby! Hope all your summer plans turn out great, and that you’re having a good week!
