I haven’t been blogging, because if I did all you would be hearing is griping, whining, and nagging, none of which you need to hear! I’ve been going to physical therapy Mondays and Wednesdays and that’s causing me a great deal of MORE pain! I live for the heating pad!

I’ve also been trying to get my teacher/class website updated with some stuff from my students. Soon I hope to have a page for each child with pictures and some of their writings (who I’ve got parental permission from).

I’m going to finish watching the Apprentice and then I’m off to the heating pad!

Drew and Rob went to he Auburn game and Alex and I stayed home. I decided to go take some pictures of Alex. We went to a park near Rob’s work. These are his 7 and half month “portraits”. Here’s a few of them. These are the more “abstract” ones. I love how they turned out though. Of course, instead of doing all this I should have been doing housework, but oh well! Alex and I had fun and that’s what counts! I’ll post the other ones later!

Huge Sigh Of Relief…

I did my first observation today and I’m thrilled to have it done! It did really well. He said he was really impressed with my ability to keep the kids’ attention at all times and how well they listen and stay on task. He said it was amazing how they are so eager to listen and learn!

So I’ll have 1 more formal observation with him (elementary coordinator) and 2 with my principal this year.

That is awesome to say the least!  I have had an official walk-through this year already.  I also have had several (and I mean about 2-if not more-a week) already this year.  I have my official observation next week.  It should be really interesting.  We are gonna blow something up!   :p

This is SO ME RIGHT NOW!

Signs You’re Burned Out

From Joke-Mania

10. You’re so tired you now answer the phone, ‘Hell.’

9. Your friends call to ask how you’ve been, and you immediately scream, ‘Get off my back, bitch!’

8. Your garbage can IS your ‘in’ box.

7. You wake up to discover your bed is on fire, but go back to sleep because you just don’t care.

6. You have so much on your mind, you’ve forgotten how to pee.

5. Visions of the upcoming weekend help you make it through Monday.

4. You sleep more at work than at home.

3. You leave for a party and instinctively bring your ID badge.

2. You blasted your Daily Planner with a .357 Magnum a week ago, but still haven’t been able to miss a meeting.

1. You think about how relaxing it would be if you were in jail right now.

Conference with Drew’s teacher went well on Thursday. I was surprised that he measured above benchmark on the DIBELS test. But glad to hear it of course! She says he’s very strong in math and doesn’t have any behavior issues!

Rob’s doctor visit went well. He’s been taking it easy this weekend.

Auburn won!

I’m tired, depressed…I was going to write more but I’m not in the mood now! I’m not thrilled about going back to work tomorrow!

Gotta run!

REMEMBER!! Article from About.com
A candy bar equals 3-5 miles worth of walking. A Big Mac is worth 10K. If you have fallen into eating habits where you are taking in more calories per day than you use, you will not lose weight.

Eating Well
Most of us are not aware of how much we reallyeat per day. Make a food diary for a week and take a look. Make small changes and add them up to get lifetime results. Eat the foods you enjoy but in smaller portions. Replace processed snack foods with vegetables and fruit. Eat 5-10 servings of fruits and vegetables per day Restaurant portions are 2-4 times the amount you should eat at one meal. Eat out less often, and take home half of the food on the plate when you do. Make changes you can live with the rest of your life.

Fit and Fat
When you walk 6 hours a week you achieve better fitness and decrease your chance of heart disease, breast cancer, stroke, and diabetes. Medical research shows that disease attributed to obesity is in many cases caused by inactivity rather than just being overweight. Enjoy life better at any weight by maintaining your active lifestyle.

Yesterday was fairly productive especially considering that I had Baby T at home with me. I decided to keep him at home 1 more day. He ended up breaking out like the Dr. said. He looks awful! He did fine today at daycare though. Thank goodness! I went to Drew’s school today to observe and see what was going on. I also had my first physical therapy today so now I’m feeling awful! I’ve got to go 2-3 days a week for who knows how long!

I got a lot done today. It’s just crazy but I’ve spent at least half of my Fall Break WORKING!!! Preparing for next week! I’m hoping that will help me to not be behind starting Monday! I have my first formal observation Thursday next week, which I haven’t started preparing for! I’ll try to do that tomorrow. Rob and I are also going to a PT conference to see how Drew’s been doing over the 1st 9 weeks. I’ve got to enjoy tomorrow, because Friday Drew is out of school and Rob’s doctor visit was changed from the 22nd to this Friday!

The debate just finished up…interesting! (Why in the HECK did Kerry have to bring up Cheney’s lesbian daughter?!?!?!? LOW BLOW!!!)

Gotta run……………..

ANOTHER SOAPBOX!

I have at least 2 friends that I know of trying to get pregnant and are going through sure agony to do it, with fertility. People who would be good parents and would take care of their children can’t. While people who care more about playing the lottery, sex, drugs, alcohol, etc. etc. (everything BUT their trillion kids that they already have with MORE ON THE WAY) , have children like damn rabbits!!!

In my profession, I’ve seen so many parents that just flat don’t care about their kids. They see schools as built in-FREE baby sitters. They send their kids to school with nothing! No coat when it’s cold. Never any paper or pencil, but yet they make sure they play the lottery that week (out of state, BTW, we don’t have lottery in AL) and get their cigarettes!

99% of the kids are on free or reduced lunch. 40% of the kids I taught at my OLD school did not have running water. 10% of the kids have a hole in the floor of their trailer where they go to the bathroom, not a toilet! Yes I know you’re thinking well that’s Alabama for ya! but NO it doesn’t matter kids are kids, no matter where you are and they DON’T deserve it. Where I worked is in a very rural area, where it has been had a bad history of child abuse. But I won’t get into those statistics!!

I’m working in a better area now, much closer to home. More urban, but still about 40% of the kids are on free or reduced lunch, I think. Most of the kids seemed to be we taken care of, or at least the parents are trying. But you still see parents with too many kids and are their resources are stretched too short.

Ok, I could go on and on, but it just makes me sad that deserving couples can’t have babies, while others have too many, which they can’t afford and take care of.

My week off has started….BLAH! Baby T woke up this morning with a fever again! He went over 36 hours with NO MEDS/NO FEVER and now it’s back again. I gave him motrin hoping that it would go back down. I had a dr’s appt this morning at 8:00 so he needed to go to daycare. But they called while I was waiting on the dr. saying he had a fever and had to go home. So the dr says my neck pain and headaches all go back to my pinched nerve. So he gave me all these drowsy medicines and I have to go back to physical therapy. He gave me some more Zyrtec and some nasal spray. He said my ear didn’t look healthy so he gave me an antibiotic for that. I spent $157 at the pharmacy!

So I’m home with Baby T, just hanging out.

It feels like a wasted day!

What a weekend so far! Arhghgh! Yesterday…got off work, went to walmart, went to get Alex (who felt really warm to me), went and got Drew, got home, took Alex’s temp underarm 101.4, took him to after care at peds because it was after 5:00. We saw a dr. I’d never met before, says he’s knew to peds and looks to be straight out of med school. The nurse had taken his temp which was 103.1!!! The dr. checked his ears, throat, and do all the normal things they check. He seemed unsure of what to say since his ears looked ok. He said he wanted to get a urine sample and get some blood drawn, but he thought it was just a virus. I’m like ok. So he explains to me they would have to insert a catheter and I’d have to go to the hospital to get the blood drawn!!! AHAHHAHAHAHAHAAH!!! Young drs!!!! Arhgh! I’m thinking…I’ve got company on the way and a messy house to clean and I’m tired and my baby just wants to go home and be better! So anyway he leaves and comes back with the nurse to get the urine sample and the nurse holds Alex’s legs down and I am holding his hand. The Dr. gets it in, he thinks, but nothing comes out. So he struggles with it for a few minutes while Alex is screaming bloody murder. It was awful. He says he’s not sure he had it in far enough! So he finally gets a tiny little bit and they test it and nothing. Then, we’re off to the hospital, waited an hour, and they drew blood with an IV.

Dr. called me this morning to check on him and after being up much of the night, I was sleeping. He said the tests were fine, but go ahead and bring him in for recheck on his ears today. So today Alex’s been moody. I’ve kept him medicated to keep the fever down. We went back to the Dr and saw a different Dr. who said after talking to me that there’s a virus going around, Roseola, where the child runs a high fever for a couple days and then breaks out from head to toe in a rash, that does not itch or hurt and is not contagious! I’m like HELLLLLLOOOOOO young doctor from last night, if you would have known that or did you know that, then why did we have to go through all that last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily our company didn’t get here till this morning and all is fine. Rob and his Gramma and step Dad are at the Auburn game right now.

I’m just hoping if he does have Roseola, it doesn’t pop up until after his baptism tomorrow!!! What timing!

I’m feeling better after finally taking a Percocet! I actually had some energy to clean some upstairs and I added some Halloween stuff to my page! I pulled out my Halloween stuff to decorate around the house, but I decided to wait and let Drew help me put it out tomorrow. I decorated my classroom last Friday with a few things. I love Fall and Halloween season, for some reason. I’ve been looking for a pumpkin farm to take the kids to. I found one in Montgomery. I might call and take them to it at some point. Weekends are busy from now until football season is over, pretty much, so we’ll see!

I’m off to bed…

Hey, I know I’ve been MIA for a few days. I’ve just been down…not feeling well. I’m sick of being sick and being in PAIN! I’m going to the doctor Monday with a list of things for him to FIX! I’m looking forward to my week off next week! I don’t have much planned. Alex’s getting baptized on Sunday, Dr. Monday, visit Drew’s class some time, and rest! Pretty much it. We’re having company this weekend, so with every little bit of energy that comes, I try to get a little cleaned up here and there and hopefully it will get done before Friday night!

Gonna go take a Percocet and lay down!

Talk to you later……………

Hope it goes well with company this weekend!  If I lived near I would come and help!  :o)

Celebrated my birthday this evening since we were so busy yesterday. We went to Country’s Barbeque and had baby back ribs. Then, we went looking for a new watch. I found one. I’m excited!

Eco-Drive is awesome!

So thanks Rob & boys!!

I’d also like thank Randy and Pam for taking me shopping while in Baton Rouge. The black Clarks are so comfortable! I’m gonna have to go get some more now!! You got me hooked on Clarks! I wore the brown skirt yesterday and got lots of complements! I plan to wear the black skirt soon!

Clarks and Born shoes are the best!!!  I have a number of pairs of Born shoes and a few pairs of Clarks and I absolutely love them!  I don’t think there’s a more comfortable shoe made in this world!  Luckily I just found a Clarks outlet here in the Columbus-area so I will be frequenting it quite a bit.

They are pricey shoes but they are soooo worth it.  My favorite pair of Borns I wore for almost two years before the sole of them split.  They will last and always be comfy–it doesn’t get better than that!!

I like the picture of the watch, it looks really nice!  I’m glad you had a nice birthday celebration.

Some people need to get a clue!

Ok….I need to get on a soapbox for just a minute. Some people are just clueless! I was at Kroger yesterday getting a few items. I was over in the coke section, where I’m about to go out in to the isle, but I see that a lady was about to cross so I let her go by. She goes to the right side just as I was doing. She stands in front of the milk section looking. She opens a door and gets a gallon of milk and stares at the label. All the while I’m standing behind her because her cart is pushed over to the side so that I can’t get by. So she looks at the label, puts it in her cart, starts to go and then stops (still blocking me where I can’t get by), takes the milk out of her cart and puts it back and proceeds to look for another one!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!! I was in a hurry as it was and I’ve just wasted all this time TRYING to be patient and not be rude. So I start to back up, but then she finally makes her decision and get the —- out of my way! Oh so frustrating that people are so clueless and think they are the only people on Earth! I’m thinking does she know I’m here? Does she care? I’m sorry for complaining, but I guess I try to be considerate and mindful of others. I’m one that always makes sure my cart is all way over to the side and I’m not just lolly-gagging while others are trying to shop! ARGHGHGHGHGH! I have another situation, but I’ll share it later as I’m starting to turn bright red!

It can be so frustrating.  The grocery store especially because you really do have to pay attention and put the cart out of the way if it’s going to take a minute and alot of people absolutely will not do that.

I try not to be too surprised at the lack of decency of some, my big thing right now–people who leave trash laying around in the study area at school.  Does a maid follow them around at home??  No, of course not, so a maid does not follow them around at school.  I’ve watched people take the last swig of something in a can and leave it on the table in front of them and walk past no less than 3 trash cans on their way out.  Same for bottles, wrappers, etc.  What’s this world coming to??
