Up on top of Casper Mountain is a small Ski Resort called Hogadon Basin Ski Area. Of course since it was summer it was closed, but it still beautiful up there.
Before leaving the mountain we explored the other side, which has an Archery Range. Then Drew showed us where he was living and we got to meet his roommates and their dogs.
From there we drove around Downtown Casper, we got out and walked around. Casper is a very clean town. They had some type of sidewalk chalk drawing competition going on that day. We enjoyed checking out Lou Taubert Ranch Outfitters.
Anytime we’re in a new place, we look for Mongolian Grill, where you pick out your raw meat and veggies and then bring it to the cook and it’s cooked on a large open grill top. Drew had already scouted one out before he got there, eaten there multiple time and said it was good. So that’s where we got lunch.
We drove South West over to Alcova Reservoir. It was about a 40 minute drive. As we continued to explore Wyoming, I just love it more and more.
Drew had mentioned meetings he had had for work up on a ridge that looks over Mike Lansing Field, where he worked. We drove over up to the ridge to see the community center he had talked about. We found the National Historic Trail Center and walked around the outside for a bit. We needed to get Alex to the Stadium to prepare to do his job that night.
The night before Drew had mentioned his bosses were looking for a replacement for their mascot, Derrick. Alex had decided he wanted to do it. Drew told him he had to go talk to his boss about it. So he did and here you see Drew standing by Alex in the Derrick costume. He had to walk around and he was in the dance off at the beginning of the game. I need to get that video and post it. It was great. Alex made a quick $40 that night being the mascot.
After the gam we left Casper and headed towards our hotel for that night in Cody, WY. Drew was hoping we could get to Hell’s Half Acre before dark. It was dusk, so these pictures I actually increased the exposure so you could see the details.
