Today Drew, Alex, and I were in the living room watching TV. Drew looked at me after he finished talking to Alex and said “I like babies at that age!” I asked him why and he said “They’re just so much fun!”

Goodness! I love being a Mom!

Wow! I’m tired! It’s been a pretty busy day. Took Drew to enrichment. Went to the bank. Washed a load of clothes. Finished putting pictures in frames. Hung pictures in the hall way. Hung pictures in the bedroom.  Folded clothes and put them away. Went the store to get Alex some Swimmy diapers.  Picked up Drew. Went through the drive through for lunch. Came home, ate, fed Alex, and got ready to go to Surfside. Went to Surfside, the local waterpark, for about an hour and a half. Alex enjoyed the water even though he was napping when we got there. I lathered him up and put his cute little hat on to help block the sun. Drew had fun as usual, practicing swimming and playing. Then we headed to swimming lessons. From there we came home, I cleaned up the mess I had left from the pictures and framing. I fed Alex, gave Drew a snack, and put a movie on for Drew to watch. I’m now typing this, while Alex lays next to me and gibber-gabbers.

Here’s Alex in his hat he wore to Surfside!

CUTIE!

I’m off to relax and watch some TV.

Today started off normal until I couldn’t find my keys!
Arhghgh!  I ended up having to call Rob to bring the key to the
car so I could take Drew to enrichment!  Alex and I went grocery
shopping and then I worked on getting the pictures in the frames so I
can put them up in the hall way, where we patched the holes (that were
there from the previous owner and I had just hung my pics up using
those).  I didn’t like the way it looked so I took them down and
now I’m redoing it with new frames and all!  I hope to have those
up tomorrow.  Then I’m working on “trip” frames (each frame has
pictures from different trips we’ve been on), which will be hung in our
bedroom.

Drew was something else today!  He’s been really good up until
last week and something happened!  I grounded him for part of the
day.  Not sure if that worked, but we’ll see how he does tomorrow.

Alex is wonderful as usual.  Although, he gets frustated after he rolls over because he wants to crawl so bad.

I saw Wendy, who I worked with at the City Hall, when I picked Drew up today from enrichment.  It was nice to see her.

I got an email from Katie today (best friend from High School).  I
always love hearing from her!  Hope to see her while in Texas!

Hmm…what to write about?

Well, nothing big going on this
weekend. For the most part a relaxing lazy weekend. Did wash and more
wash and more wash, especially after this morning! Ughghgh! Sunday
mornings are a little hectic so I usually get Alex dressed and get
Drew up so he can get dressed. He eats breakfast real quick and then
he feeds Alex for me, while I get dressed and get stuff ready. Anyway,
this morning I had Alex dressed in the most adorable outfit that he’s
never worn before. I went to get ready and soon after I heard Drew
hollering out so I ran in to the living room where Alex was laying on
the couch. He had thrown up all his formula up. It was EVERYWHERE!!
Drew said that he sneezed while his mouth was full of formula! So
needless to say I had to basically give Alex a quick sponge bath and
find something else for him to wear. There was a mess all over the
floor, couch, coffee table, pillow, blanket, etc! Goodness! Luckily I
got him cleaned up and dressed just in time!

This weekend we rented some movies:
cover50 First Dates (pretty good)
coverThe Haunted Mansion (pretty good)
coverMiracle   (excellent!)

This week Drew has summer enrichment and swimming lessons. We will also be busy getting ready to head to Texas for the 4th!

Rob didn’t get home last night until 12:30 or so. He was working to
clear up some major problems so they could FINALLY release a new rev.
So he got off work early today! We took Drew to swimming lessons and
then we went to eat at Laredo. Other than that it’s been a lazy day!

Here’s a poem that was on a trivet I received for Mother’s Day…

FAMILY

A family is a blessing –
It means so many things
Words could never really tell
The joy a family brings…
A family is mutual love.
The love of a dad and mother –
Showing children how to love
And care for one another…
A family is heartfelt pride,
The feeling deep and strong,
That makes us glad to play a part
And know that we belong…
A family is always home,
A place where we can share
Our joys and sorrows, hopes, and dreams,
For happiness lives there…
A family is a bond of faith
That even time can’t sever,
A gift to last throughout our lives

A family is forever!

Well, today was good. I kept 2 boys that are the sons of one of Rob’s coworker. They are 12 and 6. They behaved pretty well. Drew went to enrichment and swimming lessons as usual and played with them in between.

Alex is getting better at rolling over and he is determined to CRAWL! He does all the motions, but stays in one spot! He gets so mad, poor thing! He got a hold of one of his favorite rattles today and wouldn’t let go.

Today I felt quite a bit better. I took Drew to enrichment and then went to meet the other 5th grade teachers that I’ll be working with. They seem really nice and work well as a team. This afternoon I took Drew to swimming lessons. He takes lessons at the university, where the Swimming and Diving Team practices and competes. It’s pretty awesome! There were 6 divers there today working out and practicing and it is amazing! I watched them back and forth as I watched Drew too. I started feeling awful again this evening. I’m feeling a little better now, but I better get in bed before I start feeling bad again!

I’m SICK!! I hate being sick! My throat is sore and my whole body hurts!! It’s hurts to move. I can’t even pick Alex up without cringing! Ohh! It’s awful. It started last night while we were watching Pirates of the Caribbean. Not my favorite movie, BTW! Anyway, Drew’s at summer enrichment until noon and then I have to take him to swimming lessons at 3. I’m just in bed now trying to lay as still as possible while I surf the net until it’s time to go get him…

Hope all is well with you!

Happy Father’s Day!!!

Sunday June 20, 2004
It’s a been a busy day! After sleeping till almost 10, we did lots of stuff around the house…
–went to Lowe’s
–painted front door and frame
–put a new door handle, lock, & knobs on the front door
–went to Wal-Mart
–painted hall way
–painted 1 wall in living room
We painted these walls because I patched them earlier this week and they needed to be painted over. Had a rough time getting the paint to match what was already there!! Fun part of being the 2nd onwers of a house! But I was able to get it where you can’t even tell! We ended up running out for Chinese at 9 pm.

AND!!!! Alex rolled over today – from his back to his tummy! Very exciting!

It’s late and I’m exhausted…

Wow! Another week gone! This summer is going to by way too fast. I’ve spent this week cleaning baseboards, cleaning blinds, fans, dusting, reorganizing the closet under the stairs, etc. etc! And I haven’t done anything upstairs yet! I’ve just been in one of those moods this week…sick of clutter and want everything spotless!! ( yah right!) Needless to say I’m worn out and I feel like I haven’t even gotten that much done.

Then, I think about all that I have left to do in my new classroom, but I’m trying not to worry about that until mid-July or so. I just hate knowing all I have left to do. I did get everything unpacked Monday, so I should be happy about that.

I hate when I get like this!

So for now I’m gonna go rest and then see what else I can get done before Rob gets home.

We made it back last night and I’m glad. I got moved from my old room to my new room and I’m so glad that is done. Now I’ve just got to get stuff put where it belongs and cleaned up and organized. I think I’m going to work a little here and there until it’s completed!

Well, I’m exausted…I’m gonna go rest and I guess I’ll be cooking dinner tonight.

Today we went to Mount St. Helens. We tried to go there in 99, but roads were closed. I was very happy to get to go there this time. We stopped at the Johnston Observatory and the Coldwater Ridge Visitor Center. It was very cloudy and cold. The clouds lifted for a bit. Although, I never could see the top of the mountain. Then, we headed to downtown Portland and walked around and ended up eating at La Terraza. We drove around and looked at some neighborhoods in Beaverton and then headed back and we’ve just been watching TV.

We’re leaving tomorrow. I’m sad and happy at the same time. I’m ready to get home to my boys and start the summer with them. I’m also stressed about moving out of my room at my old school and moving all that stuff to my new school! I’m just ready to get it DONE and I will feel much better!

Monday June 7, 2004
We’re in Oregon now and we’ve had a good time. Yesterday we went to Kent & Colbie’s wedding and reception. You can see pictures of that here. We’re staying at the Phoenix Inn, which is where we stayed when we were here in ’99. We ate lunch at Chang’s Mongolian Grill yesterday. This is a great place and we couldn’t wait to eat there!!

Friday I checked out of the hotel in San Diego and had to keep busy until Rob got finished working. I went to the University Town Center Mall and did some shopping. I ate lunch at Island’s. Then, I went and sat in a really pretty place, which happen to be right in front of the Edward’s Movie Theater and called Ms. Lewis, who had called earlier.

Today we headed to the coast where we went to Cannon Beach and saw Haystack Rock. It is such a pretty place! We ate at the Wayfarer. We drove through Seaside and Astoria. We headed back to Beaverton, stopped at McMenamin’s. Then, we met Paul and Vickie at Stanford’s for dinner. Some how we made room for desert and we headed over to the Tillamook Ice Cream Shop. YUM!

Well, it’s getting late and we have a busy day tomorrow. I’m trying to write all of these trip details very specific, so we can look back and remember exactly where we ate and what we did!

Friday June 4, 2004
Wednesday afternoon we ate at Mimi’s Cafe with the people from AcuCorp. Then, we headed over to Seaport Village. For dinner we ate at On The Border. Today Rob worked and I enjoyed myself, by shopping and hanging out at the hotel. I actually spent a great bit of time trying to prepare some stuff for my new job! If I do a little here and a little there, I won’t have as much to do when I go back, July 26.

Anyway, when Rob got back from working yesterday we headed over to Torrey Pines National Park which was real nice. Click here to see pics! After that we headed over to University Town Center Mall, where we walked around and ate dinner. I had Rubio’s Baha Grill and Rob had chinese from the food court (can’t remember what it was called).

Tonight we’re leaving to go to Portland, OR for a wedding and some sightseeing.
Talk to you later!

From San Diego…

We’re here and we’ve been having a good time. We got here Sunday night. Monday was very busy. We got up and went on the Old Town Trolley Tour, where we saw a lot of popular places here. We also got off the trolley and went to the Maritime Museum, which was really neat. We went to Coronado Island and ate at the Brigantine and saw Hotel Del Coronado, Horton Plaza, Seaport Village, and much more. We took the Hornblower Yacht Cruise and then that night, we went to a Padres game at Petco Park!

Tuesday we drove up the coast. We went through La Jolla and walked around and ate at the Crab Catcher. We stopped and walked along the beach in Oceanside for awile. We finally ended up in L.A. We enjoyed Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We didn’t get back till really late because we were stopped by the highway being CLOSED. So instead of getting back at 10 pm, we got back a little after 12.

Rob had to go to work today, since part of this trip is business for him. I’m going to get him for lunch and hopefully we will be able to sight-see some more this afternoon. He has to work all day Thursday and Friday, so I’ll be sight-seeing by myself.

Well, I gotta run. Last night we moved from the Quality Suites that is in the touristy part of town to a Quality Suites on Mira Mesa Blvd., which is closer to Acucorp, where Rob is on business. I might see what’s around here. I’ll try to post some pictures later.

Hope all is well with everyone!
