Shepherd's Pie

- 2-3 cups of mashed potatoes
- 1 large egg yolk
- ½ cup cream, for a lighter version substitute vegetable or chicken broth
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, 1 turn of the pan
- 1¾ pounds ground beef or ground turkey
- 1½ cups of frozen peas, carrots, and corn
- 1 tbs. minced garlic
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 tbs. Worcestershire
- Heat a large skillet on medium-high heat. Brown mean with onion until meat cooked through and onions are caramelized. Drain grease.
- Toss in garlic. Pour Worcestershire sauce over meat and allow to simmer for 1-2 minutes.
- Add in carrots, peas, and corn. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Pour meat mixture into 9x13 backing dish. Spread mashed potatoes over meat mixture smoothly. Top with a little grated cheese.
